Notes About The Poem

The victim the perpetrator and the rescuer

The victim, the perpetrator and the rescuer.

Gina had a sister K, from childhood K would physically and mentally abuse Gina. Even after K died, she came through the dark to attack Gina. K was eight years older than Gina. She manipulated their mother and Gina didn’t get the same chances as her. Even on Gina’s wedding she only got a few basic items from the family while k got grandeur items.
Everyone in the family knew there was a demon in the house where they all stayed, there was fighting and abuse. No one stopped it, their mother and father didn’t do anything about it. The demon followed the family where ever they went as they were in a portal, an action by there grandfather who had fallen in so did all his family. They were all tagged.
As Gina found out at her expense the demon was a double dealer who would let out anyone that paid him.
Gina was plagued by horrific visions; she felt the pain and dark all around her. She didn’t know what it was. Until she managed life accepting this is the way it is, no one believed her, they said it’s just your imagination. She could actually see the demon. Gina thought he was handsome. She started talking to him, he seemed charming, lovable and he would say, “keep guessing”.
Gina learned that k was stuck in the portal when she died and was collaborating with the demon how to pay him by stealing Gina’s points. The demon would show anyone who asked that Gina had enough points to let all her family out. He advised them to stay friendly and as for forgiveness from one another, but they didn’t. The demon didn’t like the fact that they thought he was some sort of murderer and would slyly work around them. K in the portal managed to persuade the demon to carry out some attacks on Gina with the points she had. He would let Gina know that K paid for it and she was after her points.
He also asked Gina with the points she had would she pay for k and let her out so her soul could finally go to heaven.

Gina thought about it, all Gina suffered for all these years was because of K. Gina refused, she paid for herself to be let out when the time came.
After all k had done the worst to her in life and even in death, she came after her by attacking her and ruining her life.
The abuse was constant terror of having to suffer visions while she was asleep, so horrific that she had mental breakdown.
So now Gina made a pact with the demon she will stay friends with him as he let her out of the portal a golden door. The demon gave Gina a red rose for their friendship. The demon told her that points in life is very important, for that’s what let her out. She should not keep things secret but to relay it somewhere so it can’t be used against you. The only way k persuaded him was by deviously trying to steal Gina’s points while in the portal. Devilish scams work in portals in hell.

As I was cornered
I watched the hex being lifted from both hands
I wondered this arrived thirty years ago
I was suffering
Why would anybody throw me in the deepest corners of hell
While alive
Everyday was a living hell
So, who was it that did this to me
Why am I getting freed
Did I pay hells rent
To my surprise
It was my close family
Today I’m walking free
But why
Jealousy
That’s all I can say
Even though they had much more than me
Even oppressed me, still they weren’t satisfied
Now they can pay their own way out.

This is great storytelling, but heart breaking.. It is a deep and emotive piece. Your words really convey the weight of long term pain and what it feels like to live inside it. The imagery of the demon, the portal, and the points system is especially striking and gives a unique way of expressing trauma and control. Sending you blessings..
