Tardigrade In the Miniverse

Tardigrade in the Miniverse

Have you ever seen a Tardigrade?
I doubt it, they’re microscopically small.
Described as Moss Piglets or Water Bears,
Shortish and plump, certainly not tall.

They wouldn’t make very good pets,
But do look kind of cute under a ‘scope.
Mountains to Oceans, even in Space,
Extremist survivors able to cope.

Have you ever seen a Tardigrade?
An expedition on a miniscule crusade.

Napoleon Bonaparte

Corsica born, and an emperor mighty indeed.
Who from obscurity came up to prominence,
who from French shores the attacks of armies repelled,
who had at his disposal, Europe's resources,
who to Saint Helena from French shores was expelled.
Of old Italian nobility he was seed.
Shortish in height, yet towering in ambition.
Military genius of the highest distinction
whose military strategy is second to none save
Alexander. Whose courage is held in reverence,
whose cradle at infancy was kept in a cave
from strong invading imperialist French forces.
He gave up an empire so vast at Waterloo;
A threat to the memories of his victories past.

Mighty Napoleon, who at Austerlitz excelled,
you did on the beautiful older Josephine cast
your loving eyes, which were hypnotized with passion,
yet focused still on so lofty an ambition.
Not even your love for her would rival your love
for world conquest, for which you assiduously strove.

First Date

FIRST DATE

Her name was Judy McCormick, she was fourteen - barely
I was also fourteen, but claimed to be fifteen
She was slim, pretty with shortish dark brown hair,
Almond eyes, loveliest I'd ever seen
And a soft sweet smile, I just knew she would be nice

Noticed her in the movies, one glance followed another
Found ourselves laughing at the same things we’d see
After the theatre walked her home with her little brother
Would she come again next week with me ?
She said yes. I felt ten feet tall

We met at the theatre as arranged, it had rained
We went dutch. I bought her ice cream after a while.
We watched Steve Reeves in HERCULES UNCHAINED
Cant recall the plot, only her eyes and smile
Kissed her secretly in the dark - salty, gently.

In those days sex hadn’t been invented.
We walked home hand in hand and kissed again at her door
Yeah, corny, improbable, but true - virginity undented
How did the first date end? We both were delighted and more
With ourselves and decided to arrange another date.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Hungry Or What

HUNGRY OR WHAT?

Wife said to me other day,
Like my new skirt?
Said yeah, but isn’t it a bit shortish?
Not completely short but a little........

This afternoon I asked her
Are we having dinner or what?
I’m feeling a bit peckish.
She said, ask me when you are totally peck, ok?
