BEQUEATHED BONNIE SQUARE
a lacy handkerchief
embroidered with a hummingbird,
a nectar-sweet trellis, to sponge
the waterworks - the trickle
of misty eyes,
the honey-suckled creek
that runs over wrinkled
logs and leafy plum-cheeks.
delicate hands lift
the dapper doily —
pat-a-pat dabbing.
