Valley of Happiness

rolls of memory unroll
like the negatives of
the old camera
intense emotions imprinted
in the regurgitating
mind disappear
leading to the valley
of happiness

Premium Member Beautiful

A rainy weekday afternoon
Thoughts of you do make me swoon
I think about your lovely face
In my mind's eye fills every space
I long to kiss you on the lips
Softly, two mouths tip to tip
Inhale your breath into my soul
My heart is for you to unroll

Unravel Led

Unravel led

I am resolved
to solve
the mystery
that is you.

Each breath
you take
I calculate
and compute.

I will decipher,
clarify and unfold
each piece of the puzzle
that you hold.

You are the cipher
for me to disclose.
I will no longer analyze.
You heart I unroll.

Dreams Is More

Dreams are where we chase our goals,
A place where our hearts and souls unroll,
Where we can be, who we truly know,
And the world is ours, to conquer and grow
Dreams are more, than what they seem,
A world of imagination, a world of extremes,
A place to soar, a place to scheme,
Dreams are more, than just a dream.

Soul Searching

There is the light in your soul
Something deep, deep inside
That you want to hide
Because its your precious guide

People are curious and cruel
They want to reveal
The treasure they will steal
And you will never heal

The part of you will be gone
You will never be whole
If you let them unroll
The valuable secrets of your soul

Spring Rose

the purple leaves
unroll their sleeves
to frosty days
and longing rays

the thorny twigs
and stumpy-pruned sticks
secretly hides deep inside
the summer’s petalled pride

but sap will rise
to cloudy skies
to meet and catch
the swollen rays

with skirt of thatch
a blouse displays
a hidden promise
of perfumed sprays

Premium Member Filagree of Time

December drifts of white entice my mind -
entrap me with a filigree of time-capped waves
that ripple and unroll and lay enchantment
with a filigree of time-marked lines
to shape and sharpen memory's bequest
of looking back from winter's berth -
entrance me with a filigree of times removed,
and times left out, and times moved on.

Two Halves

As two halves make a whole
I feel a friendship about to unroll
You see the darkest parts of my soul
In which I have no control

As I with you I must admit
without even knowing it

Between us there is a bond
One we must not despond

For the words we write
Put us in quite a fright
For that we will fight
For the happiness to come to sight

EMERSON PHRASIS
Tokens of love,for the most
part,cold and lifeless.They
represent not our life.The
only true gift,a portion of
ourself.So just for we,let
the farmer give corn,a miner
a gem,the sailor coral from
the sea.Let the painter unroll a
picture fair, the poet his heart to share

Your Purpose

That bedazzling riddle,
Keeps you caught in the middle,
Causes your mind to jiggle.

This is certainly a test,
In a world that’s a mess,
But we are all blessed,
At the moment of distress,
Fight to be the best.

If you’re not sure of the goal,
Start by taking control,
This is your soul,
So if you are in a hole,
You can climb up that pole,
Faith has a great story to unroll.

My Life Flows In Free Verse

My Life Flows In Free Verse

My voice flows like a river,
as my thoughts pour out like
melted butter onto the page
as I write out my thoughts in free verse.

The flow is long and rich
and perfectly stitched to show exactly
who I am and how I think.

As my stories unroll,
my toes start to curl
and my heart starts to purr.

Everything is a blur as
I unleash my private
bag of free verse poetry.

Calmness Unveiled: a Verse of Serenity

In life's stormy race, find peace,
A balm for the mind's unease.
Nature's embrace soothes the soul,
In flowers' scent, worries unroll.

Sunsets paint skies with gold hue,
Stillness under stars so true.
Friendships warm, laughter's delight,
Calmness grows in love's pure light.

Gratitude eases every thought,
Mindfulness in moments sought.
Amidst turmoil, find release,
Embrace calmness, inner peace.

Premium Member The Gift of Spring

Now winter's on its way
     to find the exit out,
as March winds spin about.
     They soon will drift away
when spring starts its ballet
to twirl right in and sprout.

Each year springtime rebirth-
     dismisses winter dole;
revives our heart and soul
so see new life on earth
bloom colors, smiles, and mirth-
     as lovely scenes unroll.

Upon spring we rely-
     to bid winter goodbye!

Musical Depreciation

If you have time on your hands
and nothing much to do
(no plane to catch or appointments to keep,
perhaps stuck in a small motel room
on-route to nowhere special).

Then allow me to recommend listening to
a Mahler or Bruckner interminable symphony.
Your whole life will unroll before you
yet seem but a fleeting minute of purgatory.

You will have climbed a mountain in your mind,
a peak which was probably too high
and not worth it.

It All Comes Together

Will the thrown newspaper
land on the lower or upper step?
The odds are forever even.

The percolator has mixed together.
a thousand mornings
yet it arrives in normal time,
as one brew.

Outside, twiggy beds creak in the treetops.
leafy blankets unroll.
The dawn gathers enough weight,
to fluff up pillows of sunlight.

We find ourselves on the verge,
of all previous awakenings,
swinging one tentative leg,
to touch a floor
that rises up to meet us.

As I Ponder Part 1

As I Ponder

As I ponder what I am doing next
All the while I sit at the end of a dirt road
     I wonder
will it be Faster going out
than it was coming in
     Sometimes it doesn’t matter
Time is not in our control
I will
wait patiently to see the events unroll

Waiting is fine if you want to be safe
but being the event to be unrolled
   is better
You learn nothing is you do not
     make mistakes
No one experiences anything waiting on the punchline
