Unlisted number flying under radar

She never called back.?
I kept the faith, kept hoping.?
In the end I stopped trying.?
I went to a priest,?
he had not heard anything either,?
I guess cell phones?
don’t reach God
yet.

Alas it seems my list has been curtailed
as half my list has been unjustly jailed
all those naughty bits
challenging my wits
I’ve tried and tried again yet always failed

Unto your loving counteanace
are we not a pair to be
forever enthralled
unlisted by humanity
altruistic apologetic
always empathetic
sometimes failed
other time hailed
our times of the here and now
resolving past misnomers
foretelling a price for our present
the power drain from our past
the forgiveness of our futures.
Aye, there's the rub.

Unlisted

No matter you’re not in the phone book
and you pay with cash, not checks;
no matter if you dress in the faded
worn-out rags that were all she left;

no matter if you wrap yourself in cobwebs
and drive a three-wheeled wreck;
no matter if you give up your martinis
and survive on chicken necks,

it matters not. She’ll always have
your number – your carnivorous ex.

Premium Member Never Ask a Lady

A wise old lady said to me
                     when birthdays came around

"Lament thee not, a year gone by"
                              I did not make a sound

"They dare not ask me my birth date"
                she raised her hands, two fisted!

Said, “Age is but a number”, kid
                        and honey, mine’s unlisted!

Happy Birthday to all the March babies like me!
