Author's note: A pass to those folks who use their truck for business on a regular basis. However, a status truck reveals a weak mind and hurts the environment more than a "normal" car. Those are already bad enough....

An irascibelephant whom no-one could trust

Though roundly condemned by his peers as a skunk,
From interception they’d cowardly shrunk,

to live for oneself and forget what one's told - 
to drift languid in pools for years till one's old -
Oh sweet, selfish dream! Take me out of the cold.

There I can write for hours on end,
let my dreams run amok through the clouds ...

But what would I write of?
Why should I write?
As my mind sank into soft pillows of luxury,
and I forgot the bittersweet struggles of life.
Growing weaker and weaker in paradise.

The 21st century;
Changed the quality of our parenting

The busier we get;
the less time we have;
 to spend with our little ones.

We buy them off with gifts.
We cast a blind eye; 
Hoping their tantrums will soon stop.

We hope for a quiet moment to relax.
Giving in to their demands.
Hoping it will ease our guilt
Of not being better parents

As our children run amok;
With little values and lots of gifts.
Guilt compromises the quality of our parenting &
the quality of our children....
