OLD SOLitary Lovers

Sun worshippers these sunflowers
turning their backs on their tenders
lolling in the squinting rays of sunrise
stretching to catch last touch of sunset
sadly hanging their heads at dusk.

She is kindness personified
graceful and truly present
in my heart and in yours

Thoughtful and reflective
she writes, what she sees
from the tenders of her soul

Sara is a poetry soup member
who is very special to me,
she is a joy to have around

Love,
Mystic Rose

The Waitress
Sometimes I cry
Sometimes I smile
Sometimes I hide
In the bathroom for a while
The ketchup bottles are empty
The ice buckets must be full
Children scream for chicken tenders
Food is fried in peanut oil
Make sure to write on the ticket

And their meal will be free
Which means
No money for me...

Brief Reprieve
Cold haze
slow releases
from naked trees
long barren
austere
that squirrel
poised
on a
narrow fence
twitching precision
left right
abrupt and
December’s day
briefly kind
pithy benevolence
lets April play
transcendent
though brief
this reprieve
tenders
far distant
birds jubilant song
serene.

Dilemma of My Heart
In my moment of madness
When I speak in oblivion
And my actions of incensed rage forever taunt my thoughts
Haunting me beyond a lifetime
Thou is my curse!

In my moment of magic
When anger stirs my heart
Simmering close, I fear to speak
But then from the crevices of my soul
Imperial Love tenders my foe
Oh! safe haven. Thou is my true salvation
Have peace my heart....

Un Figurable Meanings
fingers falling on letter'd keys, abbreviations of time? question me please. inspiration spreads its wings, cloned out by ancient disease. voice of reason tenders whores, shallow words, they so adore. ... the sun aroused by the moon, for going down, way to soon. ... just an ode to shallow I prepared in the gallows. by a palm of dreams or a world of wit?

Yellow, a sunny color - bittersweet brightness of life. Wild dandelion its flower, brilliant in grandson’s eyes. Watching the Summer spin, fragile twirling and bend. Pandemic’s Kindergartner plucks bouquet - tenders it to grandma. Isolation had its moments - streets with no cars, chasing a lemon butterfly. “Oh, it flied away.” His skateboard in pause, as our lives were, but in home’s vase, weeds quickly passed away.
