Truth told of a teenage love affair.Took on form in the fifteenth year.Lovers
young, feeling so sincere. They gaze into twilight with no despair.
A delightful day
Walking talking and flirting
Seeing his eyes for first time
Close and personal
Dazzling with intensity
Best day ever for sixteen
Remember what our parents said,
When we told them that we would wed?
“Just concentrate on school instead.
Much too young are you.
Your teenage love will never last.”
But we ignored their bleak forecast.
And since then fifty years have passed.
And yet here we are!
First day at college,
Encounter with a girl,
Gazes are exchanged,
Heart pounds,
Clock ceases to move,
Nothing happened further,
Goes back home and ruminates with a hidden smile,
Love is so pure and beautiful,
Everything turns fresh,
Even dark passenger makes way for geniality,
Aloofness takes the back seat,
Sweet dreams are aplenty,
Everything was near perfect until,
Mother exclaims, Wake up! It is 6 o'clock.
Form:
Passions past and the sadness settles in
whispers never
It’s so fast we just started to begin
Now’s not ever
Nothing we can do lasts forever
We’re leaving all the time
Why so blue
It’s exactly what we knew
Was going to happen
Teenage love is just experimental
Couples getting down to elemental
And then it’s gone
life goes on
But nothing’s quite the same
If you want to play the game
Know what you’re trying to win
When passion’s past
And the gladness settles in
