Journey
So few know
The mile posts past.
Happiness
Laughter
Shadows cast
The roads
Together tread upon
Times apart
Far too long
Understanding and love
Through the straights and bends
Precious few
Are my friends...

Parallels Lines
It's desperate
compare our love
as parallels lines!
The lines meet only
in the infinite ...
Infinity expands
and increases the mismatch
the goals, the straights ...!...

Our Love Parallel Lines
It's desperate to
compare our love
with straight parallels!
The lines only meet
in infinity...
infinity expands
and increases the mismatch
the goals, the straights...!...

Wildcards
When writing the words,
are they thought or then felt
Which to come first,
cards different once dealt
But sometimes together,
as in straights or a flush
They win back the reader
—with more than potluck
(Rosemont College: December, 2021)...

Trump Has Been Beyond Compare
Trump Has Been Beyond Compare
But I have a tendency to write poems
about humor, stupidity and how humidity
happens to affect Trump's hair.
McCain criticize we would never dare,
With Trump the Terrible always there;
In straights dire;
Forgot spare tire;
He has so many loose screws to spare.

Starboard's East
this sea
has cast its
wildest fury
for many months
relentless
aweigh
and through
the straights
into the far
and open
with wearied
sails upon
an infernal vessel
flailing madly
in the gust
but the stern
cuts the billow
aft for dreams
of home in a
quiet harbor
where anchors
will lay down
in the sand
as they have
often longed...

I do not know?
Lazy Afternoon
Light gleaming, bouncing to and fro
Raybans and Coppertone Sport
Man's best friend ridin' shotgun
Radio cranked...volume 10, what else!
Trunk filled to the brim
Pabst Blue Ribbon gettin' frosty
Scarf a'blowin'
Nothin' but taillights and blue sky
Bends up ahead, straights behind
Worries, off with the wind
Joy, palpable, like the midday sun
Cruisin'...

Politicians and Impropriety
them we should pity
Politicians not pretty
Impropriety
to anyone poems apply
with all my haiku supply
have gone and passed by
avoided mire
his straits (straights) did become dire
term would expire
what we did with feet
have been member of elite
God will meet and greet
truth failed to provide
they always have lied and lied
felt guilty inside...

Remember Life
My son, I know your pain,
felt your fears.
I've fallen in the rubble you see your self in.
Remember to hold your strength and patience,
to comfort the loss as life strips away,
move past the pain and hold our love,
maintain the tenacity to move again,
cherish faith and hope in dire straights.
Our courage and persistence
will rise our faith
one day closer
to realization of our dreams...

A Poets Prayer
~ Dearest Lord~
Bring your divine presence to our confused world,
in arrogance, lost!
Caring no longer for you, we, in dire straights
of human desparation.
We see ourselves as poetic gods, our souls covered,
with conceited frost.
Our hearts turn away from you, mired in the depths
of self-adoration!

Who Is Your Neighbour For Trashed 2 Contest
Who is my neighbour after all?
The one who shares the boundary wall,
who lets his cat crap on my grass
and parks so badly I can’t pass.
Whose curtains twitch from morn till night
in making sure that we’re all right.
Puts out my bins when I’m away,
collects my parcels every day.
Good times or bad, through straights and bends;
my neighbours are my closest friends.
