There once was a man with a stave
Overseeing a holy enclave ...
      Well, maintaining a grin

He assessed wicked tales and forgave...

Here We Go Trumpity To Horn Haiku
Here We Go Trumpity To Horn Haiku

I would not behave
Buried my body in my grave
Stuck with sleek, sharp stave.

Trump In Does Cave
Trump In Does Cave

In to own wishes Trump does cave;
Takes advantage of home of brave;
Grave best place,
For his ugly face;
Him off as a President should stave.

Dark Side of Things
Eyes mirror shined
holding unborn tears
and thoughts of past
curdle in the throat
as if to kill
its source
Wrap myself in sadness
to stave the cold of the
numb
Darkness does not surround me
it is what i have become...

Jose In the Snow
Jose's in the snow
Oh don't you know
He shovels it out
But it still comes back down
So he builds snow angels
To stave off the danger
To keep himself sane
And get through the game!

Cavewoman's Rage
Cavewoman, sitting in her cave
Angry as hell: her best spear did stave
Vinny the Caveman is at fault
Eagerly chasing deer, he failed to halt
Witness what happened next
Oh, his mighty muscles did flex
Mangling the staff
And breaking that gaff
Never thinking of Rita's best spear!...

All But Nothing
For all I have,
I came with nothing
earthly things ,I stave
the cloths I wear,
the money is something
everyday with prayers, no fear
and I ask for anything
A journey is all
but we go back with nothing
we leave stable without any fall
and strive for everything
all or nothing,...

Ghost In My House
She comes in dreams disguised,
she takes what's needed
to stave her cries.

Her ghostly presence,
scares me not,
for she once lived here
and as not forgot.

Why can she not sleep,
who forsaked her,
made her weep?

Weep in dark hours
in gowns so black,
am I the link,
to take her back?...

Patrick Wilson
Patrick lives in Edinburgh, Scotland,
Plays boccia and has Cerebral Palsy,
Which very slowly turned his hand,
Until he started to win intelligently.

The Scottish Championships gave,
An arena for him to prove and shine,
Such that he took the silver stave,
At the 2014 Worlds in China land fine....

Premium Member Skew-Whiff
Listen to poem:
see the seesaw sea
send its waves to rock
the barrel stave wooden seahorse
to and fro, askew and slow

though I'm feeling
skew-whiff in the waddle
and iffy sickly not well
I think I'll stay
riding the bare-back bronco
to whittle the whiles away
letting the be, what's may
till the break of day...

Premium Member Knave, Yet Knight
Treasure the heart, desire the flesh
Gallantry and sin, deeply enmeshed
A man can be both knave and knight
Take what he wants, yet do what is right
Pull down the stars to weave in your hair
Stave off the light to keep you ensnared
Battle your demons, yet relish his own
The heart of a man is a depth unknown...

Cresting
Pale shimmers break
to quake the morn
while night forsakes
all hidden scorn
that snakes away
when light adorns.

Horus blazes
an arc again
lofting praises
that spark Amen
symmetrically
to whet my pen.

Advancing waves
won't stave my dance
since braves made slaves
by chance advance
with godly calm
to prod romance....

Premium Member Beneath All the Layers
At the bottom of the mystery
   that is existence
Beneath all the layers worn
   for subsistence

Under happy and sad faces
   desires to visit strange places
Cravings for praise and approval
   binges blocking weight removal

Without building a solid foundation
It's hard to resist temptation
~ not easy to stave off ruination...

Be Still
Be still curious heart,
Let rest that magical innocence
And keep away from yonder world.

Be still young heart,
Save valor and youth from change
And let the world be.

Be still beautiful heart
Stave away pain and suffering
Let not reality dull those sparkling eyes.

Be still sweet heart
And be perfect
The same as always, the same...

To Care Impressions
Relations steadfast, sincere
Bonds of love true, unbounded
Break up, rust, soon wear and tear
Over time out of no care;
With trust steady, unbroken
And respect unfeigned, so true
The cracks be mended, tended
To stave off much deeper rifts.

From My Travels On the Pacific Rim
The cold coastal wave,
breaks and froths a watery stave,
and listens,
                  as the North Shore echoes its tide;

Here the trees combine with land and gold,
and write with the rocks in runes-
Of everlasting beauty,
a world within a world,
where solitude is not
the echo of death,
but a reflection of the past....

Premium Member A Crust of Bread
Snowdrops like candy, melting on tongues
Chilly air dancing, filling our lungs
An eagle overhead, feathers bound tight
Gray skies of winter, transpose into night

Men struggle and strive in the dark to survive
Warm summer's memories more dead than alive
A crust of stale bread, an ounce of thin gruel
Stave off for a moment hunger's specter so cruel...

Hermits Cave
Shadows danced in the hermits cave

from the tiny light his candle gave,

he washed his face, but did not shave.

All his life he was a knave,

his Bible said, the souls a slave.

So, he left all the things to crave,

redeemed by God, but can't behave.

Covered by God, Hells fire to stave.

Pacing in prayer, saints paths to pave,

blowing out the candle, a stub he'll save....

I Dream of Hankie Birds

In New Orleans there is a park
called Audubon. In dreams I go
there, see the hankie birds--a show
of snow-white feathers that is stark
against the tan of trees. A spark,
a flash--the camera catches all
the flurry as birds obey a call.
They fly up all at once, and wave--
white-bodied half notes leap the stave
of branches browning in the fall....

Evolution of the Billy Club
As fruit sprouts from mangled trees
fighting to survive disease
new prods must tremble the knees

since cheated serfs deserve less
coddling strokes to stoke sickness,
new stress must press for distress

pumping 50,000 watts
into people casting lots
braving to stave social rots

while scrambling the strong of mind
and binding us all behind
fearful compliance maligned....

Fallen Shadows
To drown in the shallow pool
created by a full moon.
To wade in the misery
of the drowning fool.
Crucified on a lunar cross
at high noon.
A proud parade of waxing soldiers,
marching proudly inline.
Shot down one by one,
in the still of the night.
All the fallen brothers wrapped
in a celestial robe of secrecy.
The shadows will one rise again
to stave o the sun and cradle our dreams....
