Their Songs of Love 2k13
Wondrous be the songs which those loving hearts
do exclusively sing, just as the feathered
songsters do perform their morning songs which
greets the reinvigorated rousing day;

sounds so sweet regale me in spring, wafting not from devices, but from trees where songsters trill lilting tunes.

They will sing a song, an invitation; some believe there the devil's creation! Indeed, they are huge monsters, whales, yes great ocean songsters! But the devil is not their relation!

Robin Egg Blue
Red-breasted songsters.
Overt territorials.
Blatantly jealous.
In springtime true battlers.
Nest in cosy teapots.

Eggs beautiful blue.
Gardeners friend, eating bugs.
Gulpping down worms too.

Bursting with songs full of joy.
Lasting from dawn to past dusk.
Unselfish parents feeding young.
Exceptional gardeners friends!...

wake up

arrogant bird
black velvet blot
calling now raucously down the wind
light is barely caressing the patch work hilltops
snow creeps minutely
backing off from the slumbering valley

a new spring chorus will soon commence
you self inflated huckster
rush to grab the top most branch
arranging a choir of cacophony
out-sounding the melodious songsters
attempting to mate
through the rusty gate imitations....

Nduru
hers are paradise-measured steps
an escalation of the clan’s delight
in a sitting duck of the stream-lets;
& maidens awaken by the twilight
virgins of niger’s hidden chambers
meeting with ancient praise-singers;

“nduru has arrived! nduru is here!”
the echo of the clan’s piper rings
“o, she’s come! o, she’s here!”
seems with her a new life springs!
she: a clan’s fair-haired & elegant bird
with a retinue of songsters furtive & weird....

After the blasts of winter Spring has come once again, To clad the trees with leaves To adorn empty spaces in blooms delight To drown the lands in birds’ songs To bring joy and cheer to uncounted hearts I gaze upon the charming vistas around This is the post hibernation phase Life has sprung back with vigor The songsters sing lulling melodies In valleys, their songs euphoniously ring Filling every heart with joy
