Small Change
I ingest it all
what portion you give
it doesn't cost you much
small change, well spent
your investment is wise
little do you know
that the interest is great
and will reward ten-fold...

One Small Change
There are those times, when you look back, and know one small change, could have bettered your world
immensely. Be it an action, a sentence, a word, it threw your world off course, and the exit you passed, can’t
ever be re-found....

Fun

Skating on thin ice describes for some
that nice Deception--fun,
taunting the chill fathom
beneath the white skin.

When one hard look would send
those enamel eyes
crashing through
a surprise of air....

Small Change
A rope around my throat I wait,
standing on a box,
Unsure of so many things of late,
and missing golden locks.

I killed my love to let her go,
and I found myself a knife,
Pressed it up against my wrist,
an attempt to change my life.

I cant let go I miss it so,
I had hoped our lives would join,
my future now I do not know,
whilst the jury toss the coin....

Premium Member Pay the Tallyman
Trudging around our town,
This man is really down.
In his eyes see despair -
“Some small change can you spare.”
To eat, for cash he pleads,
But he’s more pressing needs.
There’s free food-bank nearby
On which he can rely.

He must play begging tricks –
He needs to buy his fix.
He’s a pawn in the game –
The shame, the pain, the gain.
The tallyman he pay
Lurks in that alleyway....

Premium Member That Extra Mile
When you are living on the street depressed, lonely, hungry, and beat, begging coins for something to eat; you need more than a smile. People scoff and offer small-change labeling you as weird or strange, treating you like you had the mange; every day’s a trial. You pray someone will help you out, a kind soul that won't mess about; but wipe your tears and calm your doubt, and go that extra mile.
