Light Verse
Elusive Fate of Africa
Six decades after the slavers were gone
Came along the dragon
With fire to melt our mineral ore, trees to chop
And heat for a sweatshop
Politicians shake hands with eyes closed, as few hands get oiled
So they build the castles, as the majority poor toil

Loyalty Lies
I was social
Surrounded by people
Many local
the crowd was equal
A place where loyalty lies
And boy does it lie
All talk til the cry
Their gone no goodbye
Favours for favours
Owners and slavers
No one to save us

World behaviour that way.!...

Smiling Sorrow
Grey turns the sky at noon:
Broken arrows storm the atmosphere
With their terrible mastiff and slavers
And carted away the glowing stars.
I gazed with a blurred lens
Into the sky where the sparrows fly
But the smoke from the burning huts
Had scared away the sparrow’s choristers:
No song, no peace, not even a glimpse of hope
No light, no night, not even the sweet shining stars
For smiling sorrows swings back and forth the town
And clanged to the souls that once did smile...
