Life sea wavers on waves. Soul serene still at depth I sink, search slaked for last sanctum, silence.

sea of life
pulsates on passion waves
         sapphire serenity drapes its depth
I sink slaked
within the submerged soul
          search for the sublime sanctum

Watch dazzling sunrise emerge from its surreal cocoon,
Engage with cordial citizens who ooze spry radiant charm,
Applaud droll comic town brazen banter on zigzag pavement,
Vivid vermillion hydrant spewing mint cool water on,
Effervescent footslogger’s fiery life thirst seldom slaked

Forbidden Wells

Echoed pealing of far-off bells

chases thoughts that swirl somewhere else,

                                                        each mile,

                                                       worthwhile,

thirst is slaked at forbidden wells.

Premium Member Almost Home

Near yet so far away from home
Spiced aroma of apples baked
Permeates with rich scent of loam

Near yet so far away from home
Emotions torn longing to comb
Be held close, anxiety slaked

Near yet so far away from home
Spiced aroma of apples baked

Premium Member Court of Euphoric Fifty-Somethings

the aura, godspeed ahead.
her countenance more than slaked,
it’s heated and apple baked.

fifty-somethings march with time…
sue ellen’s court supporting their queen,
with fanfare tea parties and costumes to preen.

steeped in fanciful color, like a dream at seventeen.
friendship and euphoria, sisters, well-bred
primped in gowns, fedoras and blossom in purple and red.

For the nonce, living soul,

you will breathe in new lessons through our tender tethering

as your seeking thirst is slaked through your skin;

for life's osmosis seeps mortal knowledge not implanted at conception.

Premium Member Limericks Croises: Once Meat-Eater Met a Veg-Eater

Limerick : Once Meat-Eater met a Veg-Eater

Once Meat-Eater met a Veg-Eater
And they got along fine in summer
Who d’you think stopped rains
And dried up all the drains
Meat-Eater slaked thirst thanks to Veg-Eater

Then the snows from Kilimanjaro
Blizzard-driven chilled bones and marrow
Rare preys made themselves scarce
Even ants froze their ass
Whose bones Meat-Eater drained you needn’t know !

Snowy Bottle

Trapped in a bottle
Starting to get colder
Freezing up inside
Want to run and hide
 from the snow
It comes and comes
And comes some more
Being slaked around
What is going on
Being shaken right, then left
It stops, it's at rest
The snow comes again
What is this weird trend
First there is a shake
Then comes the flakes
What is it, I don't know
All I know is there is snow
 trapped in this bottle
Trapped in the snowy bottle

Escaping Rita

Chased mercilessly
over well- worn tar
palpable loss pushes
a sable brush
dunked in dread
a furious deluge
of fear
 oozes out
blackens every inch
 of familiar landscape
what if’s
eat through
 the still static blue horizon
making a meal
of unborn dreams
slaked only by
hastily grabbed
history
coupled with
ragged spirits
 that desperately
haul hope north
safe haven
on strange soil
still dark hours
 away

VICTORY

VICTORY

I never did succeed at first
Yet winning never slaked my thirst
But giving up I can’t abide
At least I know that I have tried

Can no-one ever scale that wall
Too high for some, no chance at all
A brave attempt can’t be denied
At least I know that I have tried

Does anyone run the fastest mile
Or finish races with a smile
I still have much resolve inside
At least I know that I have tried

I never did succeed at first
At least I know that I have tried
