The Simpler Beauty 2k13

Show I not scrapers of skies, but majestic
Snow-capped mountains in alpine glow.
Show I not individuals of plastic;
But verdure and sylvan where songbirds show.

City Street

Street
pulsates
under sky
scrapers, listen
To the city breathe
blowing, huffing, puffing
hurry, push, eyes blankly stare
SCREAMS echoing in the alley
go ignored in the sidewalk shuffle
stench of urine, decay and APATHY

Copenhagen, Denmark

A city where
Sky scrapers are rare
As is the city
So are its buildings, compact!

Scraped by the sky they seem
Yet intact is their splendor and grandeur
Modernity fused with the classic ancient
Decorates its highways and streets

Spell bound and enchanted
By its beauty I was to be
If it were not for the voice of duty
That called me back home

FAREWELL!!

His, California Chrome

Sky scrapers posed a gauntlet across her neon waters....
Radioactive tides their evasive in stalking horse wavelengths
Walpurgis nights preordained pentagon knife; planchette's point
Blank modern day Pompeii ? Neptune's, man of war; crimson's rabbit.

Covered in Ice

The windshield was covered in ice
And warming it wouldn’t suffice,
So my husband and I,
With the scrapers, did try
To remove it, attacking it twice.

With the engine turned on for some heat,
We made progress, out there in the street.
As the melting ice dripped
I knew we were equipped
With the tools for the job to complete.

I got cold so my husband said Go!
He continued to scrape like a pro
‘Til the car was so clean
We need not intervene
Until Nature delivers more snow.
