Let's Be Fare


Roller coaster ride
Two for a holler, no change
Paid the fare and blew our love
Donned red eyes instead
Up and down emotions, roughed
Can we be one and pay change?

Poems oft have me musing with my muse,

sorting phrases so as not to reuse.

A thesaurus is indispensable

to make esoteric words sensible.

And to brighten my vocabulary

I consult a rhyming dictionary. 

A poetic form conceived in my mind

is roughed in, tentative and unrefined.

And as each line comes with perseverance,

a brand new poem makes its appearance.

groom gone, mocked
 by wounded run
from enemy bomb,
red hydrogen on 
 deep ground: journey of
gunpowder fog , ebony…

 mercy, mercy!
 he roughed on, 
he moved on
bore robbed order…
beyond doggone echo,
honored cup of God reborn 


one more eve…

now , bound for home.
