accustomed to struggling and striving
we know not what is non-volition
so sink in quicksands of mind
(with which we so identify
soul’s eternal presence)
where we languish
lost in dreams
hypnotised

Helpless Hands

Playing with breezes
you do not understand
Time will discretely arise you
Quietly laughing to yourself
you with your knowing
extending helpless hands
as the shore ascends
you are the drowning man now
Quicksands your sully

as the power of The one in form
we accept and celebrate limitation
somewhere someone controls the rays
whilst the ‘fallen’ stand erect in quicksands
in the divine order of the vast universe
both microcosm and macrocosm
mirror and enact will of God

The Desert

Miles and miles you travel
but see an empty desert
jaded and exhausted by such a long walk
you enjoy a frozen dessert

No trees, no water, nothing is found
except for sand and dirt
but one special thing found nowhere else
is the peace and silence of the desert

Desert snakes, quicksands are a few dangers
so, protect yourselves and be alert
but if you feel your safe enough
you enjoy a frozen dessert
