little girl of about nine is running alone in the marathon
two or three older women decide to keep keen watch
protecting her as best they can without scaring her

A Letter To My Younger Self:

A letter to my younger self:

Let your tears flow freely
Let them water every plant around you
Don’t be afraid to feel

Put up boundaries
As if they are a moat protecting a castle
Protect your heart

Pick your feet up and trudge through
The ice is slippery and your feet with freeze
But you can’t give up on yourself

You are perfect in your growth

Like the comfort of Jesus's arms walking one through life's storms. Like that of awakening to a Sun filled day. Like that of a brother protecting a younger sibling. Or a mother brushing your tears away. Yes, safe is like feeling all is well when things aren't going fine. Yes, safe is what one feels when your world turns upside down. Safe I'd like to be in knowing that feeling is jusst right for me.
