Places, Faces, Spaces

Looking for love in all the wrong places
Looking for love in all the wrong faces
Looking for love in cold empty spaces

Self love’s been lost, pushed to the wayside
Replaced with rejection
Harmed by hurt
A concoction of confusion
churning inside

Pain pushed down by pragmatism-life must go on
Even though life seems stuck on playing
this endless
sad song.

Slowly Now, Its Time

I always thought I was a good person.
Thought I was thought-full.

Empathetic but just.
Kind but careful.

But you showed me the monster,
That hears screams but wears blinders.

Where pragmatism grinds against the degradation of a dream.
And where time lost creates a river too wide to cross.

I live here now with her, with me.
And bury a fire slowly with coals and sand.

She returns my gaze when I'm too restless to sleep
a lustrous pearl mounted, deep set in a sapphire sky
I lie awake in my room, papered in spider spun silk
Slumber is allusive to us tonight; the moon and I

I wonder what thoughts she holds in her heart
Surely not man's doctrine of trivial pragmatism
Not by the one who rules the tide's ebb and flow
Her mellow glow is a healing ointment of chrism

Yesterday is gone,
All my longings
My dreams crash and burn,
Troubles are here to stay,
Seemed that plight
So hard to endure,
Far from pragmatism
Away I always stay!

Now for sure
It ideally
Looks possible
As time authenticates,
Though anxiety still prevails,
They're my yearnings
Here I state
To my very being
Stay probable and achievable!

Oh Great Lord!
I need valiance,
Believe in you
In your approval,
Yesterday is gone !!

Anxiety

A creature dwells behind me
Always lurking, skulking
Robed in shadows, waiting, hovering.
At times a ferocity of claws, shrieks -
Icy vice like grips plunging through me!
Others; a gnawing poisenous whisper...
...seeping slowing...
Through me. Again. Again.
Armour of rational thought and pragmatism/
Disintegrates upon his command.
Positivity swords rebound and shatter!
And so once more I slip, unnoticed,
Back - back - back
To his chosen lair.
