a freebooting buccaneer
plundering pirate
pish posh thievery
pillaging provoking
sought by females
Eyelashes flutter
to grip the grime
from particulates
radical in flight
with the loose
trajectory of
pillaging
rogues.
Like a buccaneer
Sailing the Spanish main
The vivacious creature
Swept into my life
And like a pirate
Went for my treasure trove

And stealing it away
Leaving my soul in chains
And my coffers empty

Killing everything in its path.
It is called by many names, destruction is its purpose.
The warriors are silent.
The greed is strong, the city lay dead.
The graves are full and the savages grow stronger.
I predict heartbreak

and in the light I see it
the frailties of man
contaminating the oceans
pillaging the land
it glistens in the sun
pours down with the rain
clouds of realization
hovering in poisonous haze
these sins will last for centuries
our children's children will pay
for the wanton disregard
of all the things You gave
Discouragement besieges my certainty like
clear blue skies swallowing up the noonday sun.
Anxiety trespasses with spears aimed to unguarded
thoughts like water rising on deck from an unruly blue sea.
My syncopated language scat of failure
like a night of blustering blues.
Pillaging my ears and ravaging my mindset's goals and dreams.
