Thought Trains
Startled awake to ideas
of missions to be fulfilled urgently.
Plans prickle in my veins.

Eager, I jump, awakened. Mind runs
fast trains, I can’t keep up.
Looking down on this I see a

dizzy whirlwind of colour and shapes.
The trains will run until they burn out in fires aflame.
We’re unsure where to place the blame. 

God oppresses reproach....

And who murders his kind,
Who oppresses and rapes and enslaves,
The question of guilt’s not so clearly defined
As the dead wash ashore with the waves;
And I’m cold and I’m weary and worn to the core
As I struggle to search for the light,
And I think to myself as the waters recede,
Maybe God needs forgiveness tonight....

When the gray city oppresses me

I drift back to the ocean in my mind
where beams of sunlight
glimmer through liquid crystal
where giant kelp bows in the current
and a rainbow of fish gather to hunt and play

I too belong in the amber forest;
for there the infinite aqua mirrors my soul....
