Now is the hour.
This is the day.
Whatever we do
soon fades away.
Yesterday's dreams
are today's cash.
Don't let your hopes
fall in the trash.
Do it today.
Tomorrow's not sure.
Our hopes are not spent.
We can do more,
All that's undone
slips into the past.
What we accomplish
is real at last.
About to procrastinate
am putting it off
setting it aside
it's never too late
it can wait
as
now is the hour
no time
like the present
nothing important
I can't circumvent
didn't wind the clock
gave my watch away
don't need to know
what week it is
nor hour of the day
nowhere I have to be
no one's expecting me
from this moment on
no long hard climb
just eating drinking wining dining
I'm living on island time
fire, fire
now is the hour
where valor is required
of men who were called and desired
a higher calling when called to fight fires
fire burns
and what we learned was
a fireman was like a mother
who runs water on the burn
mysteries are awakened
by the calling they've earned
why risk death in a burning building
we spurn
the soul of a fireman we may never learn
God bless the fireman who in their final hour
that did what God required
with faith God inspired
