Premium Member Waiting Time
They say they’ll book me for a scan.
It seems I’m overdue it.
The way things are in the NHS,
they’ll dig me up to do it !...

Medical Practice
I refuse to go to the local doctors,
A medical practice part of the NHS
And I know beggars can’t be choosers
But they can practice on somebody else...

And they find them hard to swallow...

The Battle For the Nhs
On the rise, as you approach our local Hospital, there's what's left of a homemade 'We 'heart' the NHS' banner.
Only now it's just a pole with a piece of crumpled, red stained sheet falling from it.
The bloodied flag of a battle sadly lost....

Ballad of the Nurse
To want to love
To love to care
To care enough
Enough to share

To share your time
To play your part
To care enough
To give your heart

Nurse the sick
Soothe the pained
Day after day
And finish drained

Take courage, strength
Love and share
To care enough
Enough to care....

Labour platforn
She was a country
bewildered by 14 years of decline
Bankrupted Councils
because of public cuts
now face council tax surcharges
The national NHS floundering
the beggars on the street overwhelming
A human face seemed to be bypassed
knife crime out of control
boat refugees thwarted
in hotels
Rwanda a breach of the ECHR

Happy New Year 2
Happy New Year,
It’s time for cheer!

In with the new,
Out with the few.

Upon the steps,
Keep the schleps.

Do as you do,
Ask if you mu.

Select the quip,
To care equip.

Since us two,
I have a cue.

Thank you so,
NHS are beau.

Believe n’ mu,
Be the sew.

Science too,
Now we true.

Share the love,
Wear the shove.

Happy New Year,
No need to fear.

Fen Blow 3
Lashings of wild wind wipe the smile off the smug fenland fields in Spring,

all geometrical order of all colours of the rainbow, with every colour of yellow;

jaundice danger once in this region and others in the days before the good old

National Health Service - NHS today. Today every baby tested for it to keep it away

as well as jaudiced opponents too of the NHS in throughout the whole of the UK....

Premium Member N H S a Tribute
NHS-a tribute
Trials and tribulations,acronyms,
scans ,blood tests..procedures
once unfamiliar..everyday experiences
I, now know so well.
Appointments by the dozen,with
skilled doctors,nurses..names and
faces.too many here to tell.
This, my ongoing journey,a
marathon of time and patience
alongside a very caring profession
that’s striving to make me well.

You may hear me recite my poetry on youtube under my pen name ichthyschiro ,...

I ponder at the mirror hanging on my bathroom wall
dreams shatter as I gaze upon an image once so tall.
Yet it is you in there in this life I had to become
with youthful mind to witness the epidermis succumb.
To absorb this reality a portrait of reasons
unlike nature’s call humanity breeze through the seasons.
A flower grows and fully blooms then taken at its best
should this apply to us all it would save our NHS.*

Premium Member Late
The lunatics finally did it
And it’s gonna drive us all wild
A man has an x-ray in the NHS
They will ask if he may be with child

Picture the scene, it’s almost obscene
If x-rayed at some later date
They’ll ask if I’m pregnant and I will say, “No…
But, Doctor, I am a bit late.”

The doc’s chin will drop to the floor
The unborn rank high in their fears
He’ll ask me, “How late?” And I’ll calculate…
“It’s something like sixty-five years!”...
