Only Now Are They Blooming
Only now are they blooming
On my late mother's eve
I made it up the patio steps
I breathe in tomorrow's future
Like memory strings the air floats with smiles and work and strain
Cellular, and as along bubbles we
Narrowly escape each other....

The Here and Now
Senses externalised - life narrowly sized - we strive and struggle - hoping for a miracle - roaming the earth - devoid of mirth - fears of future and regrets of past - leaving us aghast
swing polarity
by our choice voluntary
clear light dawns within...

Down
Dressed down, the organic earth-child still narrowly escapes the ravenous lapping of El Oso. Once the brute is felled by the fair, surely the tickled dragon’s snout fumes. The never-satiated beast fumes, and swipes with an eager pink swath, each time the raw gets pranced past his nose....

Highway Authority
Hunting around, sugar level sand
Mountain View all year round
Street and I will be waiting, for the summer breeze
Payment fill De butterfly seeds
Hawaii is looking pretty good
Cobwebs needing to be removed from the surf board
Freeways narrowly, then they widen
My, wife blows the whistle...

Poetry In My Pocket
I have a handful of them ,
right beneath my sleeves.
Deep,narrowly in my pocket.
Words of knowledge that awaken the soul,
Rhythms in lines pleasant to the ears,
Tones in words with wide imagery.
The language of spoken words,
The song of a poet.
I’ve a handful of them,
yes,narrowly in my pocket!...

In a Pond of Books
In a narrowly shallow pond afar
Water creatures swim ashore.
Clicking ,tinkling aloud
Hovering flies make ways across.
There,a young man sits afloat
Spreading his leafy books abroad.
Crumbs from a meal to atone
For a quick read alone.
Tales and pleasure abreast
Knowledge and skills amidst....

By the Grace of God
How many times have you heard that term?
Do you really know what it means?
You narrowly escape some terrible ordeal
Or come apart at the seams?
It's God who puts you together again
It's God who helps your strength to regain
By the grace of God, you're spared to live
To live your life for Him.

Cold But No Cigar
No cigar— a narrowly missed success, in this poem happily missed.
COLD BUT NO CIGAR
Rainy today, cold enough for warm pajamas.
Yellow nest of autumnal loveliness.
Picturesque before starkness fills the pane.
Incisors of another season, threatening
to pinch me with impending Winter—
not so fast, dying my hair green!

A New Illness
Shattered windows allow us to reflect on the storm outside.
The metal bars are not for grasping- they are electrified.
I am only narrowly awake.
I wonder if that’s a real earthquake.
Or if it’s simply me shaking while waiting for the voices to settle.
They tell me that it’s normal to ring like a kettle.
This place where treatment creates-
A new kind of illness that forms in our wake....

Beaky Man
There are ghosts, ghouls, and gargoyles out tonight.
They could all give you a scare, maybe even a fright.
But the one that terrifies me the absolute most,
Is not a ghoul, gargoyle, gangster, or sinister ghost.
I am terrified of Beaky Man. He’s trouble with a tee.
His giant beak smacks people from sea to whining sea.
As if that is not enough, his eyes will narrowly scan.
They’ll demand you tell the truth to scary Beaky Man....

Who Said I Would Not Be
When the hunted becomes a hunter
Surprising, it may seem
Unbelievable , it may look
It overwhelms the soul
Must I say more
When the victim becomes a victory
Anxiously, it may formulates
Unwired, it navigates
It conquers what meant to be done
Wiping the sweat from the face
When the story becomes a reality
Narrowly, it leads
Moderately, it progress
It matures as it grows
The writer writes until it cannot write no more...

MIRACLES
Like a bird gliding the sky
Free and merry with wings spread wide
Miracles come free and unbound
Happening so fast, faster than sound.
They feel like a product of high luck
After one overcomes a tough life's roadblock
But no, it is His mercy passing through
Even when you're unaware, it’s there for you.
Miracles like the air we inhale
Are God's graces on free, not for sale
Narrowly dodging an accident
Miracle, it is, your unplanned event....

Sleepy Monday Mariner
drifting, drifting with heavy eyelids
in and out of our conversation.
pilgrim to your words i wander.
circumventing around the room to
follow strait edged symetries.
cloudy, foggy, i cannot rise through this vapor.
so i settle in a cup of dark coffee.
then fogbell foreheaded stumbling
into iceberg corners of desk and chaires.
like roald amundson i drift narrowly down the isle
along the northwest passege of my cubicled sobriety....

I do not know?
The Wet Drive Home
I exit the dragon's mouth,
still puffing smoke
after all these
purifying years;
round the corners
square as possible,
narrowly avoiding edges
where the earth
falls abruptly away
and the sea plummets
to terminal depth-
Sure, Columbus made it!
But in this new world
of terror, politically defined,
One must pause
(rethink the wet drive home)
wisely avoiding
the siren call
of neon signs-
slippery, paste voices
of abundance
and firm footing....

Illussory Waves and Peace
The wind in the window-
Ignored, alone I am -
But the -
moonlight falls down -
The hymn of God makes melody.
Irritated-
In the sleepy eyelids-
It arouses sometimes-
The latent heat of quicksand.
Amulets tied on the wrist
Walks all alone-
The endless effort of neurons.
Purple orchids on the porch-
Unlimited detriment is the capital-
Comfort air blows in the soul
The rain drops the body of sadness
Endangered lives narrowly escape death....
