    Self-defense mechanisms
        take over in times like these …

     No matter the provocation
       Don’t forget ‘thank you’ and ‘please’

Coping Mechanisms
Inherited or

Developed

Disruptive or

Destructive

Whatever your way

Of getting through the day

Know you're not alone

Know that it's okay

For the beast is strong

But you are too

You have more strength

Than you think you do...

What's That Noise
I guess I didn't know how much pain I was in until I finally stopped and breathed in deep enough to feel the broken bones rattle and the shards of broken promises cut deep into my vital organs. I'm alive but barely living. This is the price of petty pride and poor coping mechanisms. Oh, how I wish I could've learned more as a young man....

Triskaidekaphobia
Apprehension
acquiesces
to utter terror.
Defense mechanisms
engage.
Denial drips
from my pores.
Uncharted territory
shakes my
synapses.
Familiar armor
shunned,
I stand at the ready
with a new-found
arsenal.
Rounds of confidence
and shells of
self-worth
are the artillery needed
to face the looming battle
and retain proper
station while
parenting a teenager....

Premium Member Starbucks Can'T Solve Everything Nk
The pain swings up,
Like bright mornings,
Moon dog nights.
The pain swings,
Down we go,
Into the depths.
Feet feeling
The body's heart pain.

Coping mechanisms sought out:
Time, mediation, sleep.
Fishing? What if I caught a trout?
To break this mental hold?
Starbucks can't solve everything.
Even now time runs out.
With so much more to say.
The sweet, sick swinging of the pain....

Who Are You?
Who are you,
Staring into my window
Where cinders block the
Birds from flying
Into my shadow
That erases sunshine
From grunge porches
Or squelching mechanisms
Of desire?
Was that face born into you
Like some unfortunate disease?
Or did you choose it like the pink m&m’s
Over the brown.
Because I wouldn’t have chosen it.

Shadows erase sunshine like
Rubber-gum over excess pencil—
Not pen....

Love Sun Until Day Is Done
my cat love the sun
until his day has been done;
always with much fun

found feeling a gut
have found them in a rut
should keep big mouth shut

an event jarring
from system are disbarring
had been badly scaring

Are your defense mechanisms
burned out yet?

Hello Hallmark. More artificial
snow. Am enjoying while I am
appreciating all thst God has
done for us. Amazing what is
on YouTube and Facebook....

Terms of Endearment
This is western society,
How much is distorted realism?
Talk in sinister sexism,
Casually call criticism,
Typecast fashion femmes,
What about men?
High heels or no,
They'll call you a ho!
You can't blame women,
For control mechanisms!
Emotional blackmail,
A world run by males,
We should empower the young,
For their lives in the sun,
When was misogyny begun?
Any real chance of equality,
in our western society?...

Body Language
Running my hands over your body
Outlining the features of your face
Memorizing you as you are
Wanting to bottle this moment
In hopes of preserving you & I
Seeing the star shine in your eyes
Kissing you with heart wide open
Ready to embark on this journey
Towards ecstasy
Floating in your arms
Entangled in your gaze
Becoming one with your heart
Slipping into the crevice of your soul
Where I find the mechanisms
That make you whole....

Dilemmas
I did something, I thought of something.
Some processes were set in motion.
Now I’m wondering. Now I’m thinking.
I consider an impact of Heaven.

What was made by chance, and what was not?
Some of my reactions were instinctive,
Some of my actions had to come from God,
Some work was in vain, some was constructive.

What mechanisms were activated?
What power does move the unseen strings?
Am I a free being or a puppet?
I am full of dilemmas and questions......

Look At It This Way
Look At It This Way

Look at it this way
Son won't show his report card;
What will you do next?

Severely punish;
Send him to bed with no food;
We should do to Trump.

In infantile stage;
Seems to be his latest rage;
Turn book to next page.

Am sure you will find
Trump's idiosyncrasies;
Defense mechanisms.

An inferior complex
And so much low self-esteem;
Always abnormal.

Without any doubt
Should impeach and then throw out;
Wash him from our hair.

Observation From a Quiet Corner
everybody is over their heads
looking at the paint on the wall
falling for the imitation replacement
thinking that the scenery is the actual factual
then they vent to a quiet individual such as myself

everybody has their own coping mechanisms
looking at the finished product in their minds
collecting bookmarks already claimed by dust bunnies
thinking that all expressions in each chapter is the real deal
then they pour out whatever emotions are freshly present to a detached cat like me...
