Music Box

remember when you

used to open your hand

and i would dance

in your palm

a human music box

always spinning

to your favorite song

 

then you would

grow tired and

close me up

only letting me dance

when you wanted

to be amused

 

you were always

the music in my heart

even in the darkness

of your control

 

i would pray to

see the light

the lid open so

i could  ballet

a smile across

your world
