Premium Member i am a cat in the sun
like a fat furry sassy cat
I lollygag in the sun
soaking up the rays
as if it is a love bath
as indeed it is
I hear quiet purring down in my throat
I meow my appreciation...

Premium Member Take Life Easy
Life is quickly over
Be mellow and relaxed
Enjoy as much as you can
Savor the sweet smells, sights and sounds
Lollygag and frolic when you can
Lean into the moon, let her carry you away
be easy...

Lollygagging
Just the whiff of pink rose
growing outside my front door
brings my heart to my throat, stirs a desire
to don frayed cut-offs and white tee-shirt
and climb into the womb of my childhood fort,
to dream, to write, to lollygag to my heart’s content....

Premium Member Do Not Dash
Love doesn't dash, it loiters -
with repeated movements like music
and beautifully crude endearments.

Love does't dash, it lingers
with rhythms like dance
and boastfully rude aphorisms.

So dally my love - lollygag,
lounge and we'll share breaths
and mess about....

Premium Member Don'T Dash
love doesn’t dash, it loiters
with repeated movements like music
and beautifully crude endearments

love doesn’t dash, it lingers
with rhythms like dance?
and boastfully rude aphorisms

So dally with me my love
lollygag, lounge and in a while
we'll share breaths and mess about...

Premium Member scoot over
in faerie village where I really should not be
I am hiding out inside a ripe red apple tree
faeries do not know I am here, said Lollygag Lee.
Due to great foliage, they cannot see me.

I do not say a word as a faerie runs by riding a duck.
Wait, maybe it is something else, I think I hear a cluck.
Faerie village is full of sights that in the real world we never see.
Scoot over, I tell my cousin, Lollygag Lee....

Premium Member Killer Whales Bees and Dogs
Killer whales but do they actually kill?
Killer sharks; I have seen Jaws. I am a believer.
Killer bees. I do not want to know.

Killer cats? I can picture them now. Eating the heads off
Like they do with mice and voles.
Killer dogs?
Are you kidding?
Mine is sitting in my lap.
A Great Dane who outweighs me.
The only way he would kill someone would be if he rolled over on them,
Wanting them to lollygag and play....

Premium Member Hawaiian Sunrise
Pink plumeria, midst the boats.
Hibiscus buoyant in moonlight.
A Hawaiian sunrise, she floats.
In my teal eyes, a blinding light.

Fluorescent peak near New York Bay.
The studio lighting with ties.
A brightened set, no quiet quay.
Smiles big, as she chats with the guys.

Those ties lollygag, with fashion,
whilst their counterpart shows her smarts.
Big blue eyes batting compassion.
In their midst, she’s the ace of hearts.

Premium Member Poor Alfred
Robin the lollygag prince of evil was nowhere in sight.
Batman was beyond irritated, and he had a right.
He did not want to be mean, but bellow he did.
He woke up Robin, where he had so aptly hid.
Batman’s gingivitis was so bad in Arthur’s face that night,
He was glad when he saw the Batmobile go out of sight.
Poor Arthur promptly brushed his teeth, and ate chocolate he found.
He hit his goose down mattress, and did not make another sound....

dog prayers
a way to call a greater sky
into a drinking bowl

a way to call
while staying
inside
the odor of this
world eat world reality

your creature self
will sniff out
the scent
of an ungroomed holiness

turn the prayer on its back
expose belly
wriggle
where your tail
spins like a prayer wheel

lost bones will return
still rich with marrow

offer licks and loll
lollygag for a while

then

when you see
your original face
shining
behind the moon

yowl with gratitude

...
