Today I’m thankful for children
and for John F. Kennedy..

to a time we will not see.

President John F Kennedy,
made America space ready,
shot when in the prime of his life,
he died next to his loving wife!

Jfk

Not so easily
trapped am I as
I thought.

But I fought
for straightness
and White picked
Fences.

Until holy
Matrimony you
Came and I Fell
For it.

But let's
undo these knots
Now. And Like
Jackie Onassis
I am Marilyn

And you are
Not safe.

Jfk Airport

Looking at you I understand
That nothing is more suitable to airports
Than great men's names

Like a flock of birds the planes
Take off and land
Like your thoughts, John Kennedy

I feel so small
Calling your name
Through the engines' roar

A sudden desire
To die young
In this world of mediocrity
Surrounding man eternally

Dallas, Texas 1963

She scrambled
from where she sat
in the back seat
climbing onto the
trunk of that
long luxurious Lincoln
not to escape an
assassin's assault
as many assumed
but to collect the shards of
skull and bits of brain
that had been blown
back onto it as a bullet
blasted a hole in his head
his body lolling over to
lie limply in her lap
as her flowers fell to
the floorboard
sure that if she were
to stuff them back in
he would live again
