Awake

awake, it has risen, awake!
it is time to make and take
it is time to think and be
Take it now for a robe
before the world rises to bake

In This Time

In this time of constant war when peace seems but a distant dream,
In this time of endless hatred as waves of vengeance drown the land,
I awake with the light of dawn and pray for all living beings.

The Last Goodbye

The time has come to bid farewell
To all these earthly toils and cares
To nobler heights the soul impels
The time has come to bid farewell
And join the angels where they dwell
Now comes the climb up Jacob's stairs
The time has come to bid farewell
To all these earthly toils and cares.

February

February is the second month
Of the twelve each year.
Use these twenty-eight days;
to help some life to cheer.

It is the shortest month,
So don't let it pass.
Help some weary soul;
For time is fleeing fast.

There is a time in February,
When there are twenty-nine days.
This gives you one more chance;
To tell of Jesus, The Truth, The Life, The Way.
Form: Rhyme

Ring Out Wild Bells

The year has come to an end
Let’s be grateful my friend
For the blessings low and high
Ring out wild bells to the wild sky

Many lessons were taught
Many battles were fought
Now is not the time to sigh
Ring out wild bells to the wild sky

Welcome the New Year with open arms
Let the world show its charms
The time has come to fly
Ring out wild bells to the wild sky

Cross Over

You wait for the moment
you give yourself back to yourself
and recognize it.
Take notice of its soft whisper,
Before now you could not make out
amongst the screams that took control
Only this time your eyes open
For the first time
and cross over.
Your heart speaks loud
After a long silence
and you hear it clear.
It greets you,
lifts up its hands
And welcomes you
"I remember you"
It whispers.

Sober Shots

So dark. So deep.. So hard to breathe...
No where to retreat.
Wont accept defeat!
No time to sin, or look within.
These walls are closing in...

I've spent some time on the bottom!
Big problem!!!
Scraping, clawing, gnawing my way...
Telling myself if I'm vertical,
it was a good day!

And hey!
Maybe I'm not on my feet,
but I'm off my knees.
My dreams I believe.
Therefore, I strive to achieve...

I Stand On Sand

I stand on sand
Nothing concrete
I move to prove
That I’ve got feet

Not able to be stable
I start to sink
The tears through the years
Is what I think

It’s here I fear
I stand alone
Looking down I frown
My covers blown

I made the grade
Long time ago
I got afraid and paid
What did I know?

To late for fate
It passed me by
This time of mine
I can’t deny

I stand on sand
Nothing concrete
No time to climb
My maker to meet
