Nigeria
Black elephant in the sun
As the biblical tower of Babel
Hordes of twisted tongues
Infest width, breadth
From Ajegunle slums
To the plateaus of Jos!...

Exhaling Alchemy
I inflict Kindness
to punish each act
of violence

Pre dominanced
Predatory
Vermin

I infest Love
in each space
in and between

I inflict Life

There has to be
a way
Out
of

Mosquito Combat
I want to splat you
Sir, sucker pinching veins
With itch, mosquito!

My tongue pierced skin cries
And merciless you zip drink
A bump, your tombstone!

Sizzling in my ear
Halt these needs to sense me what germs
Infest your entrails

Settle still in place
Slippery rogue, test my swat
Awful mess, my blood!...

Morning Soup
No matter how many frowns infest your life
No matter how many tears dim your life
No matter how many failures, plunge you down further
No matter how much hurt, wounds every inch of you
No matter how ugly your past & how foggy your present is, Be Thankful

Looking Down On
patronizing
condescending
attitudes
grew within
the heart
till one day
they began to
run amuck
then as they
moved further
and further inwards
it began to infest
the inner workings
of the soul
till finally it
was free to
roam
through
out the
interpersonal
encounters of
the past
within the
land of
lost love...

Maggot Monotony
MAGGOT MONOTONY on the precipice I survey the sea of stores and casual faceless crowds, I the planet lost in the tide swarming with skulls thrashing the facades restless brows maggots infest the nucleus until the centre shrieks like a sheet in the night, startled by the intense glare that neon signs cast upon blankness and pointless vows © Kim van Breda—29 June 2014

Premium Member My Take On Trolls
Companionless, unloved,
abhorrent creatures
that are the slime of cyberspace.

Lurking behind the fortification
of their keyboards,
they infest innumerable sites
with despicable, foul-mouthed,
rants,and remarks
in an attempt to inflict
as much suffering as possible.

Craven snipers, using words
to kill spirits, talent and dreams.
Never would they come
face to face with those
they try to disparage....

Premium Member Expel Those Bitter Pangs
Expel those bitter pangs of unrequited love Lest the pungent taste of gall infest the soul, And steal the joy unattended in your heart For love that’s lost is seldom ever reclaimed. By fast-held pining, sorrow, and crying spells Consider how quickly your lover went away, Likely, to embrace another with open arms Shedding nary a tear nor suffering the loss.

Turns To Death
Don’t get too close
You’ll crumble
It’s not the life she chose
But she doesn’t grumble

You’ll turn pale
You’ll become ash
This isn’t a tale
You’ll be gone in a flash

If you get near
You have a last request
Steer clear
Or death will infest

She’ll choose your fate
If you take another stride
She’ll find the right bait
And a grave she’ll provide

I warned you
I wasted my breath
Everything she touches
Turns to death

Ultimatum
At the wind's behest
 At the sun's command
 Swarming worms infest
 Legs and arms and hands

 Flesh from bone undressed
 Withers in the sand
 Denser forms divest
 Of filaments and strands

 As rigid limbs relax
 Bound by sky and land
 Mouth and throat contract
 Chest and brain expand

 Set free by their collapse
 Fulfilled by new demands
 Enshrined as they're enclasped
 By rasping sea and sand

Premium Member Joyful Santa
Joyful Santa’s heart was twirling with pure happiness.
He was on top of the world, for life was better than the best.
He danced and sang and gave everyone a feeling of delight.
In truth he was hiding sadness that might to others severely infest.

But by hiding his sadness, he had completely fooled his heart.
He began feeling better and better, although worlds apart.
From his own family, because of the pandemic and gloom.
At least I can see them on a monitor, he thought, for I have Zoom....
