Skeleton Tree

  "Skeleton Tree"

withered branches wane
buried bones beneath tree trunk
mummified death chant.

legends lifeless limbs
haunted hurricane swallowed
breath of bloom denied.

whispered memories
hidden skeletal remains
infest tainted tree.

brittle branches bough
parched to perish in black dust
screams in effigy.
