Inattention

time and distance unwind
unmindful of a ticking clock
as
commitment tumbles through constant years
with ne’er a thought
that
there exists another dimension
where all possibilities exist

Down She Drops

A barber who let her hair down at work
bared her inattention in sudden jerk,
carrying the pair that clips
down she drops on where it pricks,
ejecting shrills I show her all my irk.

Failed Marriages Written: by Miracle Man 5/12/2024 Many marriages are failures due to one’s inattention, and it wasn’t either party’s lack of plan or intention. But from the start, they drifted apart. Because neither party would seek God’s intervention.

Collision

You there, on the wrong side of the road gathering
     particles of burst bubbles
Me here, a sizeable dent in my cruise
going the wrong way on a one-way
Inattention, looking beyond and backwards
     unaware and uninterested, sleepwalking

Until a voice unheard before . . . . .

Between the eyes particles burst
     bubbles float on a whim
Axis rights itself and
goes the right way on the one-way

Distractions

Whisper in my ear, without my permission
Aimless, entertaining, aiding inattention

Pleasures of the world fill my desires
Vision unclear as I play with the fire

Double edged sword dealing with habits
Mind on the run as if it were a rabbit

Dismissing the need for prioritization
Psyche saturated through over-stimulation

Time passes by, and you won't even notice
Success or failure depends on your focus

One

One tear breaks the dam,
And out flows a river of sorrow.
One smile makes a connection,
And a life-long friendship is born.
One second of indiscretion,
And something precious is stolen.
One look that two strangers share,
And love begins to bloom.
One laugh shared among family,
And memories are made.
One moment of inattention,
And so many lives are shattered.
One person speaks up,
And the whole world changes.
One: it's not just the loneliest number.

Filled With Song

Many people spend their days
With total inattention
To any music, which to me
Defies my comprehension.

The radio’s flipped on as soon
As I get out of bed
And plays all day except for times
The TV’s on instead.

From classical to blues to rock
My world is filled with song
And only when there’s music
Do I feel that I belong.

Without some melody, a home
Is quiet as a tomb
But with those notes surrounding me,
My spirits start to bloom.

For years, desire,
Was punctuated with excuse,
And resentment,
Became a full time resident
In his thoughts.

Age left him feeling
Like a malcontent,
Floundering through life shadowing
Love's Portion.

The years he envisioned as his
Had been long pilfered,
By inattention and neglect;

His decent years, now remote,
He visions through a haze;
Remorseful feelings by himself

He knew changed nothing,
For yesterdays are unforgiving,
And time respects no person.

Death of a Protest

to celebrate a beautiful sin
on the green lake
a sequelae starts a covetous lust
of white skulls,

discovering oneself was as exciting
as the fondling of breast
for the first time –

innocent graveside, road burning
stretching to throbbing millions
harvesting endless tears;

inattention of grief
was the punishment of unknown
shredding the veil into bit pieces

the ferocious clawing
tears off the sunset of age.
your jealousy?
bitter screams?
