I picture you on your island of Malta,
fine treasures you mete with nature
and lovelorn memories. My mind’s eye
froths with imageries and portraitures.

Tribute to Victor Buhagiar
Edacious dreams were left to die,
but hunger doesn't fade away.
Sweet longings that pervade each day,
reminding that our hearts don’t lie.
The brilliance of the imageries
(not fading in intensity)
press to my thoughts deliciously -
rose-colored tinted memories.
Those dreams were never meant to be,
I fight their lure ferociously.
But nothing else, this want, appease -
rose-colored tinted memories.

though quaint or even mistaken,
exude the naive hope
of capturing
the shaking silhouettes of shadows
of the truth, the artful, the beautiful,
both vague and vivid,
and of coaxing
imageries to pause, to stay a while,
as the coarse canvas the brush
caresses with moist hues,
tints, tinges.
drifting in a zestless world of hypocrisy,
aching to dispel the lunacy
echoing with distorted imageries,
held in a bastille of utter carnage;
I’m abundantly devoted to
breaking free from what enslaves me.
acquire
wading through the necrotizing tenor
that binds me,
steadfastly drawing near, while
teetering on the confines of
my perilous mind and altruistic heart—

waves of moon splashed sea I look for rhyme when imageries blow
on mindscape raising dust of emotion turning into storm of afflatus
making me a poet profound
