I see your eyes look down

look away

look astray

and disapproving

sometimes hateful

I see the scorn and beatings your father gave you immediately in your eyes

and the humiliations others have given you in your eyes

you have not come to a realization of what is

you have not come to realize yourself

and I forgive you, friend, I forgive you
