Hi i am Wall-E
& I hate to be the football Goalie.
I am a good robot who never fought,
with nice thoughts.
My color is white
& i am quite.
You know you can't go out to play
For today is the Sabbath Day
You must keep it holy
You can't be their goalie
So go to your corner and pray!
Active fun-loving roly poly little goalie
slowly retrieved a ball so lowly
He said right away
It is a great day!
The crowd yelled back “Holy Moly!”
You take the shot, the goalie dives, you score!!

A former goalie in prison for life
For feeding his dogs parts of his dead wife
Was granted a work-release to play soccer again
For the Brazilian pro soccer team needing a win

another news brief from your Uncle Mike
Pitcher deals.
Center snaps.
Forward volleys.
Captain kneels.
Wing traps.
Road team rallies.
Runner steals.
Driver laps.
Bookies watch at O'Malleys.
Coach jaws.
Goalie paws.
Mothers pray.
Midfielder moans.
Winners eat macaroons.
Fathers look less gray.
Refs tally the time left
'Til the moon rises.
Fans leave, bereft,
Searching for further surprises.
Spring Senryu
as the sun slumbers
unseen hands tend night’s garden
fireflies applaud
pollinating roses
red faced – caught in the act
a thorny dilemma
the dandelion
spring’s forever WTF
roots of anarchy
nothing but net
the mosquito goalie quit
buzz – buzz- slap – ouch
the great blue heron
mocks the wetlands trees
standing on one leg

I kicked the world lay at my feet
the wrong way down a one way street
I kicked and kicked and didn’t stop
until I reached the paper shop
and thought my journey was complete.
Between the headlines of defeat
Liverpool's team was in retreat
hearing the call from Jürgen Klopp
I kicked the world.
My dad leapt up out from his seat
with terrace chants I won’t repeat
reality began to drop
legging towards the mighty Kop
only the goalie left to beat
I kicked the world.
