The lonely gnome stares
at the dirt wondering if a rodent
will pop up to ask if there
is more fruit being grown this spring.
Carp
A Carp in the fryer,
is worth far more than,
all the trout in a lake.

Words enlighten the soul easily.
When the heart need not search for their meaning.

We know all roads lead to Rome
So you drive a posh Motor Home
For goodness sake
Elate your mate
And lose that damn garden gnome!
While I was sitting on my porch one day,
It was in the middle of May,
I saw a great sight,
A gnome in fright,
And then he ran away

Better to be a fool for a moment,
than one to remain a fool forever.

In Life
In childhood you’re playful.
In youth you are lustful.
In old age you’re feeble.

You don’t pull the petals of a rose to make it bloom.
Perfection should never be forced.

Pinata
If they identify themselves as a pinata.
Is it ok for me to beat them with a big stick?

Brownie, elf, gnome, pixie and fey
Walked to large mushroom store on the bay
Met a grouchy gargoyle along the way
He was made of concrete, all gravelly gray
Walls
Sometimes we put up walls.
Not to keep people out.
But just to see who cares,
enough to knock them down.

Utopia Dystopia
One man’s Law and order is another man’s oppression.
For an imposed utopia is a true dystopia.

Roman Gnome
There once was an Emperor of Rome
Who invented the first garden Gnome
He thought it looked cute
In its Christian suit
Mascot to the Coliseum of Rome
Spoken Word
Spoken word is supposed to be heard.
For the written word to be heard,
the words they must be spoken.

Irish Proverb
A long life and a merry one.
A quick death and an easy one.
A good girl and an honest one.
A cold pint and another one.

A gnome wrote a poem
" How to love Sarah Moonface"
But his carrot nose fell
Murphy's Law

lost his pen in Moselle

The gnome did not know any other way
Than to serenade the birdies with a happy hooray
He uplifted their spirits on this lovely Saturday.
They tweeted their appreciation to the wise gnome named Gay.
The Water
The water need not be so deep,
to forestall evil from its keep.
A wall that can be clean and clear,
preventing evil coming near.

The deer tamer came in the shape of a gnome.
He lived in a house in the valley of Rome.
Not the Italy Rome, but the whimsical valley.
Where he raised deer up right, along with his wife, bright Sally.
Sipping his warm tasty gnome grog in the snow
We see troll’s size fourteen feet and we laugh at his ugly toe
Why doesn’t he wear shoes or boots someone says.
Too warm blooded me thinks, says my cousin Inez.
garden gnome Jim loved the marigolds especially
And the sunflowers of course, and petunias, luckily
He tended the garden, every day, admiring each berry
Occasionally sneaking a radish, rose, or a strawberry.
The night gnome from Gosh has the lightest blue eyes.
They are lovely and deep, and full of dainty surprise.
His clothes are made from the best threads of all.
He might have been a king if he were just a bit tall.
Death Of A Snowflake
Irony is not lost on the dying.
As falling snowflakes no two are the same.
Endless monuments to god’s creation.
They are born in winter and die in spring.

Welcome to gnome village
where the lemonade is free
and the inhabitants want to feed you cookies
Sounds good to me, I agreed.
Where do I sleep?
Who takes me in?
You are a giant, one of the gnomes told me.
Don’t push your welcome.

Treasure
Under tree
Hiding a secret
Unfolding a revelation
Greed chained magical creature refusing to exit
Expiring embracing a wood chest that contains jewelries and coins robbed to farmers
