Looking up with a gleam in the eye, I offered to read; she said, “Why, when your plots are bizarre, leave emotional scars, and most of your characters die?”

Coral
I just can’t resist
When you walk by
The life in your smile
The gleam in your eye
To hold you, to love you
Would be just a dream
But for you to love me
It would all be a scheme....

Kill Me
Kill me, you feel that is right.
Kill me, on this dark cold night.
With a knife in your hand and a gleam in your eye,
Bid me a sweet, sweet goodbye.
Kill me, everyone wants you to.
Kill me, aim the knife at my heart and plunge it through....

The Unsaid
Eyes after a loss.
Mouth open in awe.
Deep lines on the face.
The lips like a saw.

A tear on the cheek.
The hair hanging down.
A knowing late look.
Made without a sound.

The lilt of a smile.
The gleam in the eye.
A telling eyebrow.
The lips of the shy.

And the look of love.
That's always enough!...

Malefactor
The kind of girl who
wanders alone
The kind of girl who
doesn't give a s***
The girl with the
wicked gleam in her eye
The girl that causes traffic to slow down,
then frantically speed away
The girl who wanders down the street
and people go inside
The girl that just flaunts her attitude
so there's nothing left to hide...

Dreams
Confused arising
Seeking, searching, scrutinizing. . .
Succeeding.
Conniving, cutlasses, smirking swords;
Silently mocking, laughing at my doom.
Glaring, glowering, with a gleam in their eye.
Eerie eye patches, sneering smiles;
Sinisterly scheming, anticipating gloom.
Creeping, crawling, cringing. . .
Complete.
Concrete awakening....

Post-Heaven
she likes to watch the rain
she likes watching it fall and watching the droplets collect and gather like animals in herds
combine and shine
it reminds her of better times
times when she was holy
before the angel lost her wings
she doesn’t realize
her wings may be clipped
but her halo still glimmers
like the old gleam in her eye
from days past...

Bonnie Scotch Ladies
Oh !
The swirl o the kilt !

The Maid
There was an old maid of Pitlochary whose morals were truly a mockery
For under her bed she'd a fellow instead of the usual porcelain crockery !

to the haunt o the pipe !

The Lady
Each time Lady Sutherland swooned
Her bosoms popped out like balloons
But her butler stands by with a gleam in his eye and lifts them back in with warm spoons !...

With You
you're not young and not old
to me I like it that you're bold
to me your sweet and innocent
I want you in future and present
I love your smile as you pass by
I love the gleam in your eye

first night kissed you in the street
sleepless til next time we'd meet
with you everything feels so right
with you my future feels so bright
with you I can see myself living
the acts we do no use forgiving...

Aflame
Aflame
I hold this tiny flame closer to my heart
This gleam of hope that has survived
Through the dark clouds of depression
And the vast oceans of tears
This flame has kept me going
My strength, though small, shines
The gleam in my eye, a sign that I'm not giving up
And all thanks to this flame that will thrive and set my heart aflame
To shine bright even through the darkest of nightmares...

Patti
That last night
Then you went away
To chase after an heir
Of a rich family
You were not
The only one
Many women got
A gleam in their eye
I wonder about
How that he felt
To be chased
Only for money
Be seen as a way
To get to a fortune
And not as a man
I wonder if he
Married for love
To a woman who didn’t
Know who he was
And left all of you
With nothing at all
Not even with me
Then you went away
To chase after money...

Mother of Mine
She's the giver of life
She's the queen of hearts
She's a one woman band
Who played all the parts

She's the gleam in your eye
She's a bright sunny day
She's the voice of reason
When life runs astray

She's a shoulder to cry on
She's a well needed hug
She's the keeper of kindness
And unconditional love

She's a guardian angel
She's a heavenly soul
And she's loved in our hearts
More then she'll ever know

After the Kiss
Filled with emotion,
Self conscious at first,
It was but worth the wait,
Your moist lips,
The smell of your breath,
The gleam in your eye,
As you lay upon my chest,
Slow again gazing at you,
Wanting more,
To taste your lips again,
And hold you so gentle,
My hand on the back of your neck,
To draw you closer,
As again our lips meet,
More passionate than before,
Both thinking we’ll see each other more.

Cloak and Dagger
Sadness has overcome me,
fear too.
For all that I know,
I can't tell you.

Secrets abound
and I'm underground.
Cloak and dagger,
faces and facades,
diamonds and pearls,
more than I wished for when I was a girl.

Freedom comes like a windy day
and I miss it when it blows away.
I snatch the light
as it passes by,
looking for happiness
in the gleam of an eye.

Perched on a limb
High above the ground
Sat a little birdie
Looking all around

Peering down among the people
He cried with glee
I see a tiny breadcrumb
Just waiting for me!

Soon the little birdie
Flew to the ground
Pecked at the breadcrumb
But failed to look around.

Then one of the people
With a gleam in his eye
Stomped the little birdie
And watched him die.

The moral to this story
Is always look around
And never eat your dinner
Sitting on the ground....

My Desire Is Your Hearts Fire
My desire is your hearts fire

I long for you and my need is dire

I see the good in it and always admire

I will wear your love like my finest attire

I will drown in it like the deepest mire

It will gleam in my eye like the most precious sapphire

I shall live in it and never ever tire

I will learn from it and always let it inspire

Together we will have an everlasting empire

It will be a part of me forever even when I expire

My desire is your hearts fire...

As twilight merges into night
 Luna casts her golden glow
 Surrounded by twinkling stars
As she puts on her nightly show

A shooting star streaks across the sky
A wish is made before it fades
Sparks of delight gleam in the eye
As the night plays its serenades

Constellations are scatered here and there
 As Venus comes into view
The night has a magic all its own
To enchant us through and through
