Winter treads on tender feet,
covering autumn’s fall
with soft, white fleece, 
whiter than summer clouds.

People grouse and groan, shiver
in winter’s icy cape, enfold
themselves in rubber and wool.
Yet I, who shivers no less,
stand mystified by beauty
and awed by power.
 
Nature’s coffin wraps death
in a gown of splendor, 
greets dawn sunlight, winking
like a gazillion scattered 
diamonds on a velvet frock....
