Squirrels

Frisky
frolicsome
ace acrobats
defying gravity
like that

___

Skipping
across lawn
arching, rippling
endless sassy-fussing
spitfires

Childhood

Childhood
Immature humans
Learning about adulthood
Playful, frolicsome, lighthearted anticipation,

Do It To It

Sex before Marriage,

Then walk down the aisle,

All dressed in white,

with a frolicsome smile...

Test all the waters,

They can't be the same,

Kudos to Marriage,

the new Dating Game...

Mischievous flint spark
razes lethargy’s prison
igniting joy’s fuse.

Majestic maple
sheds summer’s scarlet dreams
naked but for hope

Frolicsome breeze
unencumbered by custom
transports wisdom’s seeds

Still morning lagoon
shimmers cosmic buoyancy
atop deep pure peace.

Darkness and radiance
frolicsome purport

and access of

visible world and
inconspicuous world
heart to grace

spawn the shades of truth
redeemer

between
contest of awareness
and the depth of the ocean

concealed
beneath the shackles
of humankind

Premium Member Be Still

A stoic stands at contemplation’s crossroads
winnowing the weeds of will
delving into the divine divisions
of fate’s frolicsome vicissitudes.
The face of a stony simpleton
suffocating on a stifled smile’s
guarded grimace
pandering to pleasure’s pain.

Autumn Fire

vivid jade and frolicsome
when summer zephyrs eddy near,
the leaf enfeebles during harvest
so its glow, like emerald,
drains to gaudy saffron hue:
a single, sere lick of flame
	combusting autumn into fire
‘til winter’s hoar grows imminent
and earthward flutters fragile leaf,
	extinguished.

Premium Member The Smile At the Foot of a Ladder

the first step’s the sweetest
the ladder steady
not splintered
no thought
of the problems up at the top.

the foot is giddy
impish, tapping
with dewy-eyed toes.

under a frolicsome smile,
an ankle circles in mid-air,
daring the stare of his mother
as she cleaves to nine feet below.

The Petal

A single petal of some fallen rose
Swims in a sea of spring-time breeze-
Like a whirling, frolicsome child
It dances at play on the sun's jeweled stage...

But for a while...

As Day too soon veils its light
In eventide's repose,
And Wind withdraws its lifting breath,
With a wordless cry, and trembling
The petal plunges, resigned,
Consigned to the greying earth
To die, silent,
In an endless ebon Night...

Bamboo Sketchings

Slender and long,
           the bamboo tapers off skyward,
           waving in the frolicsome breeze
                      at the noonday cotton

                                  clouds.

                     Across the damp sand,
          its shadow pencils thin, quivering
              strokes and lines like artwork
                     in tinted hues on silken

                                 shrouds.

Pan's Frolicsome Guffaw

Pan’s Frolicsome Guffaw

’Tis the eve of The Equinox.

Methinks I hear midst Boreas’ frozen rattlings,
an unsticking of great Pan’s frolicsome guffaw;
a cheering hint of his sweet pipe!

The warming sun doth his winter’s musings thaw,
his slumberous desire arousing.

His torpid chill’d soul methinks unbends
in vernal cabbage nigh, in newly trickled streams;

Finish’d then to be, his frosty
abjuration of sweet Syrinx!

August

Anapest Pentameter

This is middle of summer with many hot days and warm nights.
It is popular time for one's favorite water sport play.
On sand beach are small children now flying their fanciful kites,
in the distance far boats move and quietly sail out of bay.
(All such people indulging themselves in own frolicsome way.)
For a happy experience, life's fun-filled options are great.
Some are seizing the day, in turn many more hardly can wait.

Midnight In Sitka Park

The silence of the park,
seizes the hour of dusk,
where majestic snow-capped mountains
adjoin the skies of midnight blue,
a halo of light encircles the
quiescent scene highlighting
a child's red jacket left behind
on the end of the slide,
the playground is the sanctuary
of childhood beginning and
childhood ending----it is where
laughing and yelling are allowed to be,
especially at midnight when the
spirits of frolicsome adventure overtake
the child in all of us.
