Bamboo Sketchings

Slender and long,
           the bamboo tapers off skyward,
           waving in the frolicsome breeze
                      at the noonday cotton

                                  clouds.

                     Across the damp sand,
          its shadow pencils thin, quivering
              strokes and lines like artwork
                     in tinted hues on silken

                                 shrouds.
