was just a
novelty item
within the minds
of the crowd that
had gathered to
watch the show
unfold right in front
of their eyes full
of disbelief
there stood two
hearts flouting above
the ground
then out of no were
one came crashing down
turning to dust
disappearing into thin air
afterwords the remaining
heart flouted away into the distance
without a second look
What treasure rare and highly hung should ever lofty drape,
‘Cross heavens bright while flouting fate,
Ever lofty accolade, past reach of fingers stretched,
What would soften stony aura?
What touch could soften apathy flesh bound?
Let not bitter remembrance sting,
But adoration soften cares bygone,
Truth might soften hardness old,
Though proven only hard of trial,
Proven still when heart relents
Oh what superficial facades we build
So featureless in this menagerie filled
Oppressing humanitarians and the like
Hysterically mocking honesty divine
Brutally molesting innocence in kind
Blindly we follow fools gold
Materials we tower and uphold
Savagely flouting righteousness athrust
Unappreciating sincerities must
And pouncing on words so true
What unhappiness we must imbue
Alas I slowly bid morals adieu
Shedding all values true
Realising the world anew
