F Words

A bird feeder full, hung from fallowed fronds

The apparition of this swarm of finches feeding: Felicity in flight

Rooted Within

Carrying them with me,
   traveling through time

Words seed my memory,
   new meter and rhyme

Spreading them freely,
   over days fallowed thin

New verses sprout upward
    —rooted within

Love Was Unnoticed

THY EYES'
SAW FROZEN BEAUTY
STOOD LIKE THEE ANTARTIC

FROZEN TODAY
FELT YOR COLD HEART
LIKE MY SCULPTURE

UNNOTICE R'
YOU...
ME...
FALLOWED BY

LOVE OH
INVISIBALE IT SEEMS TO BE
INDEED SUCH RESILIANCE

STAY NO MORE
SAY NONE THE LESS
LOVE NOT ENOUGH

Where Witches Roam

Wicked winds and wandering mists,
Moonlit hours and secret trysts,
Spells and charms; unhallowed loam,
Stealthy do the witches roam.

Boiling cauldrons, smoke and fire,
Fallowed fields, dearth and dire,
Ungodly grants that demons give—
O’ thou must suffer not a witch to live.

His Name

he was a dancer
a true hero
they say on the field of battle
none could stand his wrath
dancing until the world was one
those who fallowed him strive
those who stood against him
time has forgot
one man
one tongue
one sword
his name is remembered
his spot in time well earned
and his name was
god

The Final Harvest

Those drunken nights and barroom fights
  now seed my fallowed ground

Where women spurned and lovers churned
  rule memory’s lost and found

Those wasted days and sleepless years
  like wine have aged within

Fermenting each unwritten page
  —reharvesting my sins

Luck Is a Girl's Best Friend

In the stark semi-private
Shared by rotating hip replacements
Her bed was along the far wall
Boasting a south facing window
With a view of a fallowed field
And the phases of the moon whose light
Set the specks of windshield
Embedded in the helmet
On her bedside table
To sparkle like diamonds

Jawbone of An Ass

O to stand upon an emerald place
A see the rage on Samson's face
That handome Goliath on Israel's side
Wielding a jawbone for stolen bride
What a picture of the rasta dread
What an elation over wicked dead
Littering like fallen leaves the fallowed
Land, shaken down to earth by hallowed
Hand. For here today where asses bray
There own jawbones could put them away.

Unkept Secrets

i....gave my own soul
fallowed by my hart....
stretched so long... it continued

i a lender giving my hand... reached out
taking your troubles away...
in return.... a secret to be kept.

you... i my self trusted
not knowing what i sincerely troubled...
fear im laid.... about to become....
a night mare so to be.. opened to me

foreshadow don't... hide anymore...
worn me forevermore...
i.... to see another time of misfortune

No Love To Sow

At one point in my life, I had much love to yield
And now my heart; is a fallowed field

That has been overworked and sadly underfed,
It is now a place in which to bury the dead

Feelings relegated to dank shadowed tombs,
Oh, how I wish I had never left the womb

Warm and safe; I was never unprotected
Until cruelly expelled into a world so neglected

At one point in my life, I had much love to yield
And now my heart; is a fallowed field.

The Silent Pitch and Sportsmanship

It is not a conversation you overhear,
Like the questions rolling underfoot,
"Who goes there?".
You can see the grass has told
How tall to grow
To the chicory, dandelions and clover.
At the edge of the pitch
Where competition is stiff,
They grow bigger, taller and bolder;
Yet in each new match, every plant,
Agrees to a height and no taller.

Till in the next field over, where it's wild and fallowed,
It's to the death, all bets are off, and no foul.
