On a lonely pier
of weathered wood
and salt water etchings,
beneath a moonlit mosaic
on a cloudless sky
Stained glass brush strokes
cling to a northern horizon
as I cast my heart afloat,
wishing on a promised tide
that it reaches you

Winters roll and weave
Lines around your eyes
Making you look wise.

Small pieces of paper -
notes to an unsuspecting love.
Etchings of black and blue ink
scrawled errors on blank sheets
that once said nothing.
Now, clearly displayed to read
for all to see longings, emotions, feelings
waiting to verbalize everything
but saying nothing at all
kept hidden inside.
Peace and plenty,
Orb of fine rays;
Earth feels savvy,
Touch of fond ways;
Incline sure heart,
Calm and surely.
Mind cheery start,
Offer to see;
Voice sparks a trend,
Etchings of art;
Meet and attend,
Echo each part;
Note how things flow,
Thrills outlive show.

When the yellow fan quiets
the still night creeps forward
the panic of midnight arrives.
The crickets can't carry
a tune built on nothing
The moss fresh with dew can't help thrive.
I wonder 'till morning
I knew you before
The etchings my brain fascinates.
I pace fast and fury,
I wonder, I worry
My love is decideably late.
Form:
Etchings of sincere thoughts
written down in time
so not to abandon their meanings.
Explosive feelings
falling ardently to paper
agonizing with each ache and affliction.
We right any injustice,
defend each analysis,
and plead toward understanding.
Amid life’s occurrences,
our audience takes in our wisdom
studying with rapt attention.
Hollow,
carved out emptiness
replacing shake-able joy,
until it's just a gnawing ache.
Grieving streaks
drip in streams,
Covering my trembling face in
broken, bleeding etchings.
A crushing burden,
to breathe in the morning,
and carry as the sinking sun
dips below the fading horizon.
Another day, another loss.
A bitter pill to take.
One tact breeds act:
Calm paves the way;
Urge greets the fact,
Rich depth weaves stay;
Rest in fine mint,
Enter true form;
Notes that wealth tints,
Clear health fits norm;
Yields and yields yet.
Now and here grow;
Opt grand mindset,
Truth and trust know;
Etchings that flow,
Sense bounty grow.
