A Form of Abuse
Once espoused, poetry the cause
now even when aroused
I listen to my muse and pause
if only to take a second look
wondering if I will revisit
as I might a favorite book....

Shadows Of Light
When night
is your mistress
all wishing is gone
Espoused to
the sun
till divorce came along
Hope
your one offspring
lying dead in repose
Philandering
blindness
— your tryst ill disposed

(Dreamsleep: February, 2024)

Poet Real Life
My so-called solitude,
is shared with the stars...
Flowered with light,
dawn for centuries...
Apparently I live alone...
So I live content...I don't have
real wife, real children...
Since I espoused poetry,
my offspring are:
my songs,
my verses
and my poems... !...

I Couldnt See the Breeze
volatile faces
perspiring fingers
broken branches
of love
abandoned perspective
dominant understandings
espoused
 period of transition
brown leaves falling
without charm or sadness
i couldnt see the breeze
but feel the trees smiling
she is searching in the attic
for the lost rusty love...

Lunged and Plunged
Lunged and Plunged

Sin of much temptation again luridly lunged;
Be careful or deep in debt will have plunged;
Errors made,
In stock trade;
Records of my stupidity then were expunged.

Jim Horn

Can you imagine if all stocks that espoused
sin were in their own stock marker so we
would not be tempted by them....

Premium Member Dealing With It
Listen to poem:
She had discerned the shame
throughout her espoused life
real love she earned to claim
and end that timeless strife

Now a divorced woman
who timely pays her bill
provides all that she can
for she cannot standstill

She creates all day long
she ascended the scale
for she founded her song
her spin and not his fail.

A Crossroad
I stood still;
stationed
amidst a crossroad;
dispirited
with a dormant mind.

One decision away;
two alternatives,
yet one to be espoused.

Do I listen to my intuition
and swim across the lake of dreams
or do I listen to perceptions
and hop onto the imminent train of life?

Caught in the chaos,
A battle
betwixt the heart
and the brain;
alike an incessant war
of fire and ice....

Prose and Passion
Poetry is the language of the soul Its passion is lethal Its writing speaks well Its forms becomes in style Literary and viral It is a burning desire Which is spontaneous and eloquent It speaks of its feelings and emotions Of love, its surroundings, its existence A likings dwelt within a lingering beads Sometimes full of doubts, pains and hopes However, when espoused deemed a masterpiece.

Voice of me
It has been months
Since I stepped out of my house,
Nowhere to go, darkness espoused.

It has been months
Since I laughed out loud,
Impulsive enough, to not wear a shroud.

Then one day, I decided to step out
Into a world, full of crowd.
And then,
In the midst of the crowd,
I heard a voice—
The voice that I missed in the darkest of nights,
The voice that always felt, but never was mine.

Unbetrothed
Religion and science…
never to wed

Like oil and water,
alone in their beds

While science defends,
ancient dogma portends

Two voices discordant,
to break if they bend

For centuries long
they have fought tooth and nail

Refusing to budge
out of fear that entails

A false understanding,
bells call from within

Where marriage awaits
—espoused unto Him

Shall We Dance
Camouflaged, in life's musical arrangement,
lies a melange of harmonies sounds.
Those, of a daydreaming waltz.
Others, with the vitality of a tango.

And when this symphony plays,
and its melodies espoused.
With each sound that resonates.
Will our paths become more illuminated.

Then will we not just walk with boredom,
but dance with all our spirit.
Nor will we just hum a low tune,
but sing loud a vibrant song....

Six Years
M' Sweetheart, after six long years of waiting
I have realized you will not come back again.
O, Heavens! Burn with sorrow and bright lightning
For in your Auspices, the better
Part of Me
Doth Still Abide

No pain, no sorrow, can keep you with me,
Though I try,
Longing after hopes
That should not be
Espoused
Or else I'll drown
In the Very Ocean of my Sweat
And Tears

I will Abide in Thee
Until I come
Until I come to find the other side
Of Sorrow's Sea....

Patience
PATIENCE

There she stands alone
All seasons she’s been there.

The rain doused her beauty
The sun pulped her caput
Harmattan shroud her wit
And circadian ambiance
Robbed her Regard.

Her espoused lovers all gone
To the harlot Desperation.
Only silence heaved in her heart
A burden like Aso rock.

Yet she strive
On and on for fulfillment….
And one day all her lovers
Shall be awed at her triumph.

But then she cannot wait on
As much the length of six feet!

Itsoghole O. S....
