Today’s Short Poem
Miracle Man

Into words, my innermost thoughts oft flow,
while some are held hostage in word escrow.
For words, once I’ve spoken, cant be retrieved,
So I cautiously speak leaving no one peeved.
When the wind blows across the meadow
And the tops of the flowers in waves
Of three syllables deposit to escrow
The name of my bluebird to save
She's not mine at the moment to access
But my time collects interest and grows
'Til the day I can withdraw my earnings
On that day to her then will propose
Sitting here, blanketed, the night is so dark
I look through my window and up at the stars
But something is missing, my heart sends a cue
That something is someone, that someone is you
All that you are I'm just waiting to know
But what I know so far I hold in escrow
With compounding interest I've yet to realize
The fact that you're priceless I do recognize
You left us a sound recording of the pronunciation
but I'm guessing my ien from yang
with no written list to escrow
I'm blundering trying to shoulder this word game
and my reve of speakeasy fades
like Icarus without wings

Azure streams silted with cotton bows
Green, svelte carpet spreads below
Silken florets on tawny branches glow
Yellow daffodils cloak the meadow row
Purple violets' royal fabric vaunted hills hallow
On servile plain, feathery dandelions spread umbrella
Along hedge rows, creamy honeysuckles with sweet dew flow
In dense, brown brush; fledgling chicks from saffron gapes bellow
On the forest floor; jittery, gray squirrels deplete nutty escrow
No Happiness Here Either
She loves me, she love me not, knots
As he picked the petals of her heart
Why the cold chill your heart sought
Your petals cold, damming my start
A river of tears cries from the sky
Mine, forever a rainbow lost a pot of gold
You, a commodity richer to my eye
Than blossoms of bosoms a smile behold
On your surface I lie in your meadow
Wandering sweet dreams held in lost escrow

Distraction is the giant fuse
that takes my thought to other's lose,
to turn the heart to so and so
seems easier, than to rescue soul!
Mind on my ways, my thoughts of prose
are so entwining ~ losing's pose,
the mind, the mind is life's escrow,
the bind, the bind, is self control!
Ah lose me then, true love's not known
that thy encounters were bestow
and all thy rantings teamed enow ~
to live again, my life's expose!
Was gentle faith ~ in pathway's chose!

After the world has bottomed you up
like a brown bag, no label wine.
All. Day. Long.
Plopping your worn glass,
empty, on a Whirlpool cardboard box...
Absorbing, drying
all once-upon-a-time, 'Made In China',
condo-walled dreams.
Your buddy, 'Thunderbird', twitches whiskers
over glistening gutter teeth.
Dandelions in cement cracks.
Ah, life is good. Sleep peacefully.
No mortgage. No rent.
The morning brings a full glass
to hold you in escrow...

As interruption wanes with cares of how
a promise then, I have by Godly vow,
an ever more to strengthen thee enow
so strengthening, I grip my cause, escrow.
A boycott of derange, I pray to space
my legacy from thine, this being case,
until in mastery's time, I play thy face
adjourning nearer mine, in Godly praise.
Is dearer, solemn, fine - a private grace
that blesses homage' line, my own to trace.
As God denotes divine, to so replace
all emptiness' consign - with loving based!
