Stars and Moon Await
Floating embers swivel golden flames go up
towards marked enclaves a midnight sky
skywards and onwards the stars and moon await...

African Flies Make It All Too Clear
Safari buzz is near...
A continent no luxury
To domesticate its giraffes and steer-
Plows mud enclaves
As the storm leers

Yet full of good cheer
No worries-
Especially in Kenya

We're all out on loan
To the universe
Let's see what we do...

              Living in white enclaves
              Insane dreams they are secure
              Till a twelve gauge points
              Into their prayerful direction
              Losing body sensation
              God, please be their salvation

For Dan
Years of friendship now comes to close
As wooden box enclaves your bones
I incant the dirge picked just for you
Through vaulted halls soft notes flew
White robed deity their incense burn
Satins power to dismiss and spurn
Then wild birds call over open grave
All life’s sins packaged and forgave
As you are lost neath natures clay
Adieu good friend till another day

Hurricane
Storm-tossed tempest, foaming waves,
fluid furor, drowns the brave,
surge waters from the hurricane
breaks breakwaters men have paved.
Swirling maelstrom, fast winds rage,
through the trees their howls rave,
roofs fly off seaside enclaves,
fools who stayed will know the grave,
comes to claim both good and knave...
Concrete and steel might be saved,
even then it’s a close shave,
oceans never do behave,
Poseidon laughs from his sea-cave....

Parisian Night
Parisian nights magical made for hand in hand walking
Along the light sparkling Seine,
Across bridges running to old left bank enclaves
Magic nights soft city lights
Footsteps echo into alleys
Taxis purr catlike in misty morning dew
Who walks in these early hours just before dawn?
Bakers rolling croissants, freshly baking
Deliveries of flowers, papers, breads
All in sleepy just light …
You and I, hand in hand, find our way home
Under flowering purple trees...
