Now
I know that it is now
But my memory
Takes me to the past
My imagination and perhaps
My fears or wishes to the future

I strive to keep my mind
Only on the present
And not dwell on the past
Or daydream of what’s to come
In fear I’ll miss the here and now...

Your Northern Star
Here I am
Can't you see?
Sitting in the sky,
Look up at me!

You said you've lost your way,
Sitting in the dark
You can't find your light
Pain has left its mark

No need to dwell on the past
The futures bright and clear
I'm you Northern Star
See me? I'm right here...

We Will Be Friends
The love is over but the friendship will last
We will now look to the future, not dwell on the past

We will be friends as the time does fly
We will be friends as the years pass by

We will be friends long after both hearts mend
We will be friends until the end...

The Past Is Yesterday
The Present becomes the Past
Painful as the Past may be its over
One day the future will become the Present
Learn from the Past
Do note dwell on the Past
Make the future better any way you possibly can,
For tomorrow will be today,
and today will be yesterday,
and yesterday is forever....

The Now
The world moves on
With or without you
You can't dwell in the past,
Nor stress about the future,
You must think about the now

The world will continue
It will still spin way past our lives have ended,
So do not fear the future or cry over the past
Live in the now, think about today and what it might hold...

Pressures of Youth Today....
Judging people is common,
In our youth of today;
People are bullied and ridiculed,
For what others seem to say.

But God has made you different,
So you can be told apart;
He really does know everyone,
From their smile to their heart.

Remember yesterday has gone,
But tomorrow hasn't been;
Don't dwell on your past,
Think of the future unseen....

Tick Tock
You need to let go
don't dwell on the past,
Time flies by so quickly
make every day last,
You need to hold on
to memories and dreams,
You'd be surprised
at how much they mean,
Forgive and forget
spread joy all around,
Because life¹s end
is always very soon found,
Laugh when you¹re happy
cry when you¹re sad,
You need to let go
don't dwell on the past....

My Shadow
I follow my shadow where ever he goes,
we walk in the darkness so nobody knows.
We dwell in the past, we like it that way,
keep your tomorrow we have yesterday.

When there are dark skies, we paint them all blue,
so heartache and storms we never go through.
Some call it fantasy, others denial,
I'll tell you the truth and lie with a smile.

Sorrowful
Many of my thoughts dwell in the past Surely, I longed to feel the breeze of your touch Each day feels like a drag Down is where I pick myself up Please hear me when I say I say my heart is in vain Begged for it to come at peace to fix a broken piece Please listen to me when I say I say my soul is unease Wished to mend it with no more broken piece

Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow
What if yesterday, today, and tomorrow
Came together for one day
Would they all dwell on their past mistakes
Or live life for today

Would they dream about tomorrow
As today's dreams fly away
If they had it all to do again
Would they relive yesterday

Life can be confusing
My hope is that you'll find
That after yesterday, today, and tomorrow
have had their say
You'll live one day at a time...

You'Ll Never Win
You think you'll get him.
You think he'll notice you.
He wants those slim, juicy girls.
He'll take anything he can get.
He won't take me,
Girls who are loyal.
I'm not good for him.
I don't need him.
I don't want a little boy,
A filthy liar.
I'm looking for a man.
One who won't lie,
Like he did to me.
I will find him.
I won't dwell on the past.
It's not worth the pain.
I won't go back to him again......

Don'T Look Back
Don’t dwell on the past; it cannot be changed
Today is the day you can rearrange
Put today to use and create more good
Do your work in love like you know you should
Today can bring glory where life abounds
The time has come to share your love around
There is good everywhere, just look and see
There is enough for you and also me
I will not fear for good will come my way
Don’t look back; life is only lived today...

Lesson
Never dwell on your past,
Nor put the future last,
For the present dictates,
That time never waits,
And you never can feel love too fast.

Rush not through your life,
Lost in bustle and hype,
Just let yourself stop,
You'll find that it's not,
Worth all the long sleepless nights.

Life holds its lessons,
Peace and transgressions,
The sun shines each day,
Let light find a way,
In darkness start counting your blessings....

The Zen of Love
Breathing deeply, relaxing tonight
Contemplating the truth of our love
I will not dwell in the past
Or dream of the future
But in this moment I know
I love you

This romantic moon
Has awakened
My love for you
My love actions speak
Louder than words

For our love
Is a light
To be shared
And will never go out
At this moment I know
We are lovers

Just Another Number
Locked away from society, living in a cell
twenty-two hours a day, this is my hell.
I need to be strong, and not shed a tear
wondering if love will survive, this is my fear.
My mind keeps struggling to keep itself sane
but it's hard dealing with misery's pain
So I remove myself from the present
don't dwell on the past, I pray for the future
and hope it comes fast.
Until it arrives and I am once again free
I'll be just another number trying to be me....

The Actress
I smile because I’m happy
You cry because you’re sad
No time for second chances
To get back what we once had

Time passed us ever so slowly
Yet now it must progress
We can’t dwell on the past
Or try and fix this mess

I loved you like no other
And my love for you will always stay the same
Regardless of what this may result
No one holds the blame

I can’t wait forever
But I would, just for you
Right now I’m simply an actress
Waiting for her cue....

Glued Down Hourglass
Tell me you love me
You don't know what tomorrow brings
The sun isn't free
So treasure the little things

Find the light
At the end of the tunnel
Don't take flight
Your happiness, don't pummel

You can't dwell on the past
Keep your eyes straight
Moments will pass you fast
Just believe in fate

The hourglass is glued down
That's a fact
Don't frown
Keep that smile in tact

Time is permanent
If you're alive
You're fortunate
But you need to thrive

Dwell Not On the Past
M-emories of the past
A-re coming back again;
E-motional problem occurs when too much thinking won't end.

A-im not to dwell on the past,
N-ever let yesterday return;
N-ever will it bring good
E-ffective lesson to learn.

T-hink not too much of the past,
R-ealize today is here;
I-t's time to eagerly plan
N-othing but the next year.
I-nstead of wasting the hours,
D-o nice things sure and fast;
A-ugust thirtieth Wednesday,
D-well not on the past....

“Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment.” Buddha

Mere seconds, minutes or hours comprise each day of your life.
Only when unconscious, in a coma or asleep
Might you be unaware of life’s pleasantries or strife.
Embrace the “now;” enjoy what you can, for time does not come cheap.
Nurture the meaningfulness in all that you do,
Treasuring each moment God has given you....
