Our fellow Souper
who gives of himself freely
his words touch our hearts

This is dedicated to Raul Moreno
who has written so many wonderful
dedications to many of us here.
Thank you Raul and God bless you always.

Today

Today I looked through albums
To find you among the photos
Today I looked  through the books
To find your dedications.
Today I went through our memories
To find you.
I missed you today
With a red rose in hand
In the eternal resting place
I came to meet you.

A Punishable Crime

Don’t chase me,
Love has no meaning
In a Muslim Girl’s Life.
I understand your feelings,
You are truly honest.
I care for your dedications
But if someone from my family
Watched all this.
I will be afraid,
They will chop you.
As they chopped animals
For Halal.
Haram is a sin in my Religion
As love; a punishable crime
With a non- Muslim Boy.

Self fulfilling prophecy

I read book dedications and cry.
Nostalgia burns worse than
the words you used to speak.
I've been the problem child since
—well, ever.
A self-fulfilling prophecy.

Isn't it ironic,
my diamond dame?
You brought me into this world
pink and smooth and wailing—
or so I’ve heard.

Some nights, I wonder:
Did the chicken come first, or the egg?

Did you hate me
before you made me?

Two Seasons

Rivers of bright reds and browns sink into the soil,
sugar maple surrenders to silence.

Winter has little mercy for the colours of life.

But in early spring, buried bulbs rise, ready for the new toil.

The sun forces out a new drop of blood from the inner bark,
desire born out of suffering pulls roots from beneath the mud.

Purple

The shelves of your forehead wrinkles
are still undusted. I scrub them clean with hot tears,
carefully placing selected stories
on the continuum between you and me.

I twine our joint years around your neck,
covering you with Wisteria flowers.

In that royal coat I make you believe
there are no blue and red granules
in our blood.

Memories Intervention

Drawing a blank once again
Searching for inspiration in every corner
Destined to be more than just
Ordinary but extraordinary

Tempted by fates intervention
By uncharted destinations
Emotions raw true to form
Lines etched, stolen moments

Years of written dedications
No expectations of appreciation
For life, love, the mysteries
Competing with this hearts memories

Mothers

To all women who have contributed to the growth of humanity, through their relentless sacrifices, commitments, dedications, endurance, courageous deeds, and resilience.
From the ones that would marry, conceive, or birthed in the slums and trenches and downtowns , to the streets of the highwalls in the cities across the globe. You're our heroes and we celebrate your existence today and always.
Happy mother's day to you all.

Femi Ibim Sonnet

From head to toe, energy flows,
Each time she shows her unique style
Miles away, with a unique smile,
Infused with the most unique glow.
Inspired to show what I know,
Before my memory is filed
In the back of her mind's eye, while
Mutual respect for art grows,
Sonnet dedications are formed.
ORIGINALS earn such an ode,
Not because they are not the norm,
Not conformed, but true to their code.
Eventually, these words storm,
Thundering down creative roads.

"mrs. Joyce Cross Is Very Well Known!!!'

Mrs.Joyce Cross is very well known
In Jesus she's really grown.
She's known by many, and loved by all
When ever she's needed just give her a call.
She's a dear,and precious friend
Her love is no pretend.
She's a wonderful mother that always care
And the love she gives no other can compare.
Her passion is the kids program, and celebrations
Forever giving a hand,and dedications.
She truly loves being at HMOC
And there's no other place that she rather be.
