CYNIC

Who can forget a liar
Or a peace maker's sigh
Who lights a burning fire
For reasons who knows why

Cynic Takes a Chance At Love For Tail Contest
THE CYNIC TAKES A CHANCE AT LOVE

I pay the price for last night’s dance
Sizzled love was just a chance
But we’re both enriched
Call a cab to take me home
Or I will find a street to roam--
Another night of ditched...

A Beggar's Work
A beggar must have a gimmick
And one that others can't mimic
To open the purse of a cynic
Yet keep him out of a clinic

A beggar sits there scheming
Though you may think he's dreaming
And that may leave you steaming
But it leaves the rich guys screaming!...

Smooth Sailing
This is the flow of Cynic wit,
But here, within, I tell no lies
Whom so patient to idly sit,
And observe the passer-by?
In the Night, like ships we pass,
A silent break in the waves me make
Frigid waters in iron-cast,
And in my Heart there sticks the stake!

*A nod to Poe :)...

The salted sea,
capricious,
Captures dreams unguarded,
to roar in glee and toss toss,
to crash against his hardened sands.

Dreams be fragile.
Best to guard and gentle nourish,
protect against the cynic salts,
the doubting hearts
and the deep and salty sea....

I get this cocky feeling when I hear
that another cardiologist died this year.
And my laughter becomes hilarious
when the cause is arteriosclerosis –
brought on by plaque-clogged arteries,
overweight and junk food calories.
(Serves them right for not practicing
what to others they’re always preaching.)...

"friend"
It took a comment to play it openly
in my mind...
where do i stand in this?
I have a question to be answered with
realism i guess...
maybe my optimism is fighting
asking for the opportunity
to be life-like.
Quickly,
i hid
the cynic came looking for
my company
Crouched behind hope,
the cynic tapped...
i shudder
facing my unwanted friend......

Bloom and Bright
Reaching for the sun,
Basking in its radiant light,
We play and run,
The blue sky is clear sight.

The fields are lustrous green,
Summer holds the fort,
The air is fresh and clean,
A brisk walk keeps the mind taut.

Where daisies flourish,
We'd sit for a picnic,
Tales and laughter mesh,
We tie with hope, none is a cynic.

Listen to poem:
in the chill of morning air
a presence surreal yet tangible

its silence a fulfilled longing
as the sun begins to rise

life in all its glory revealed
within a grander plan

still the cynic caterpillar
refuses to believe

A Bird Unaware of Flight
A bird unaware of flight,
A sword unaware of blood –
That’s me. And I’m scared to fight,
My blade cannot slash, cannot cut.

I will say I am a cynic,
That I’m a great bore, cruel, petty.
And people are apt to believe it,
They see that my soul is empty.

I’ve never been charming and bright.
Whoever will understand me?
Oh, it is so easy to hide
That I was born a romantic....

Equanimity

Don't be too sad
  or be too angry
Too good or too bad
  Have equanimity.

Mine isn't a cynic mind
  or inclined to pain
Nor pleasure-blind;
 a confirmed villain.

          *

Guided by patience
More so, resilience
Sameness of mind
Will protect the rind!

When in dire need
You'll act with speed.
In accidents, to panic
Is next to Satanic!...

De View
The view How you see the world bubby, depending on your age, naive as the sunshine, then you turn another page, the cynic type is coming, have another beer, someone bloody wist in it , its tasting might queer, but then you're thin in plenty, old tripe whose bones do ache, stop yappin bout serenity, lets have another steak.... Premium Member Feeding a Current
The Universe plays games with a cynic,
building a refuge of restless comfort;
Not knowing what road I’m supposed to pick,
every one met with a clever retort;
Chaos feels like it’s blowing me apart;
So much solace with your monotony,
but crazy is all that’s in it for me;
Over and over just spinning around;
Simply a paradox actually;
Feeding a current even as you are drowned....

Who's Fault Is It
Within the confines
Of an infinite space,
An illusion of freedom
Looms over us.
We’re brainwashed as children,
Then live to die.
Anchors of trauma,
Curses of choice.
They keep us in place.
Yes, tell me.
Argue that I’m wrong.
“Stop being a cynic,
People aren’t all like that!”
You can say whatever,
But you can’t sway me.
My mind has already been made.
And in my reality,

Relocation For Dislocation
People flocked round badly hurt Paul,
Ten minutes ago had a fall
While he was playing rough football...
And they had to a doctor call,
Then with chess players in a hall,
Loved more than the card's near a mall
"No! His treatment not in this hall,
For not being ethical at all...
Some First Aid and then my clinic...
At least, it'll save me one cynic!"
And you with a dislocation:
Get ready for relocation....

Cynic
In Religion born, immortality supplication

Foolish of mind, venerate the decadent and rich

Materialism bounds purpose to subjugation

Governments intent satin stitch

Hypocrisy’s compassion

Devotion in profit

Discontent, humanity’s ration

History the incessant prophet

 Contrary of law, justice

Loves whisper, illusion

Salvations road, oneness

Attainment not, forgone conclusion...

On the energy waves of the eons,
Of lyric and line ever-forming,
One is injected, transported,
With all vibrations bursting
Through the human heart and mind,
The jolting edge of innovation
And every positive passion.

Even the cynic or child may sense,
When riding such a current,
The power native to humanity.
Synapses now malfunctioning
Cannot forever thwart their charge.
Mankind has the voltage needed
To mobilize all the connectors....

Amphetamine
Expositions delight, I have it now,
into the mirror I take a bow.
My narcotic panic,
for my inner wack cynic.

A saber in my hand,
ready for battles in the sand.
And drop focus onto my heart,
I just to began to start.

Tweak on my freak on,
constantly play like Tron.
but I cannot respond,
I'm going at her like James Bond.

Am I at a show?
Or just watching the traffic move slow?
Don't matter! - I won't go!
Not until this last rock does glow....
