Love Wish From a Cynic

LOVE WISH from a Cynic
By V Anderson-Throop

Why do we
With pens of light
In darkest night
Wish for love

Why do we
With minds so keen
And words so mean
Wish for smiles

Why do we
Who decipher
Black from white
Know day from night
Why do we speak gray

Why do we
Who pass sleepless nights
Dream dreadful frights
Still
Yearn for break of day

I am not casting stones
But My heart knows
      I’m not alone

So, on life's course
      on your white horse

Grab me on your way.
